New Era Stone Sculpture Park (New Era Art Resort)
Located in Puli Township, Nantou County, Niu-Er Stone Sculpture Park was established in 1987 and has grown over the decades from a simple stone sculpture exhibition site into a diverse art and leisure resort. As Asia’s first folk sculpture garden, the park is known for its unique style and showcases works by renowned Taiwanese sculptors such as Lin Yuan, Ju Ming, and Yang Ying-Feng.
The name “Niu-Er” comes from founder Huang Bing-Song’s vision: all three artists—Lin Yuan, Ju Ming, and Yang Ying-Feng—were born in the Year of the Ox. United by their dedication to Taiwan’s sculptural arts, they hoped to “take the lead,” symbolized by the phrase “to hold the ox’s ear.” The park features primarily Lin Yuan’s creations, complemented by selected works by Ju Ming and Yang Ying-Feng, offering visitors an inspiring blend of sculpture, culture, and natural scenery.
