
WHO Formally Recognizes Cannabis Vomiting Syndrome as Cases Surge Nationwide
Clinicians now have a diagnostic code to reference for digestive problems that largely impact chronic marijuana users.
Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome (CHS) is known as R11.16 in the World Health Organization (WHO)’s International Classification of Diseases manual.
Since the classification was implemented, a University of Washington press release announced that medical providers can use it to identify the condition with one billing code instead of describing it with two or three less specific codes.
