The pianist Rudolph Kündinger gave Tchaikovsky private piano lessons and wrote about him:

‘He was undoubtedly very talented, had a fine ear and a good memory, but one could not yet conclude from this that he would one day become a great pianist, let alone a famous composer [...] The only thing that caught my attention to a somewhat greater degree were his improvisations.’

Pyotr Tchaikovsky, known in German as Peter Tschaikowsky or Tschaikowski, was a Russian composer. Many of his works became internationally famous during his lifetime. Today, they are considered among the most important of the Romantic period. In Russia, he is now considered the most important composer of the 19th century, although he did not belong to the group of five, but continued the school of Anton Rubinstein, which was influenced by Western influences.

Tchaikovsky's best-known compositions include his last three symphonies, the Violin Concerto, his First Piano Concerto (1875, in B flat minor), the 1812 Overture and his opera Eugene Onegin. With Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker, he also composed three of the most famous ballets in music history.

The video was captured by Christian Schlegel in Simmental, Switzerland and was edited by Wenjing Ma.
