Peel Ferry - Ozark Hippie Camp

all right welcome to another road guys another adventure this time over here at the pill ferry i've got a couple of guys here that work do y'all mind being on the youtube cool i've got two guys right here how long have you been here with the the ferry about a year and a half year and a half what about you good sir forever forever see this see forever over here that's uh what do we do we go back from back and forth from arkansas right yeah that's awesome guys yeah you see all the cars guys and there's motorcycles were they free too yeah this is one of the the last free ferries guys yeah but we pay for it with the texas uh or with nothing but the taxes from uh from arkansas gas guys the head fairy [Laughter] that's how they make their day guys that's awesome so you'll see guys we'll be uh man these are new keeping people safe here i guess they had one go off well we're here at bull shells guys lakewood shoals i don't know if y'all ever been on this lake coming across from a little town i call pro tem missouri here on highway 125. we're just going to go back and forth basically and he drives it from right over there using that tug boat what's your favorite part of the job all of it 40 minutes basically whenever that guy comes back it'll be about 40 minutes because it takes about 20 minutes there where are you from sir mississippi river oh okay cool man i had some people from saint charles on here before oh yeah yeah we were at the bass pro in memphis tennessee at the big pyramid oh yeah yeah and i met some i i got a father and son man just trying to encourage them to love each other and listen yeah they settled this almost 180 years ago wow what's your last name what was the last name mike powell hightower you got a lot of women that's awesome so 180 years ago yeah there was no lake here then right no oh it was a big riverboat wow i see man that's awesome so 180 years ago guys this guy's family was here these people come up do you think there's any uh wreckage from that from that water like it would be on the missouri river you know how some of those in the 1800s would have you know they sank every three years or so but yeah they would have found i'm pretty sure you guys would have found that by now i got you okay it's not that evil 210 feet at the dam i think oh yeah yeah but it's one of the canyons that damned off baby oh yeah that's good talking with you your first name well larry that was my late dad's name man my brother five years ago yeah my dad passed two years ago it's not nothing like losing yeah he was like a rock yeah i know i know are you always there nick at the end right no matter how hard-headed we might be my late dad though he used to always say that last when you call me you tell me you did this or you did that when your brother larry calls you calls me he's asking me should i do this should i do that yeah but yeah he he was instrumental both of our lives man he loved that baseball what about your dad what was one of his things he loved well i'm beating a half brother for the first time in three weeks my dad had a fling he had an affair had a son yeah yeah we didn't know about so a few months ago wow i'm meeting him in a couple weeks that's awesome brother that's awesome so well i mean and i had another half brother he passed away okay but that was for my dad's first marriage you're living near the mississippi right now then just north of the world on the river this is the new river in missouri you're living on it right yeah i'm on the on the mississippi river what are you doing down here just hanging out i go back and forth between branson and there all year i go back and forth yeah this is my homeland you know ancestral homeland here it's awesome brother where's your homeland uh mainly san antonio texas i was stationed there yeah at um you know the boot camp yeah the air force base my true home is up in heaven where your dad's at where my dad's at yeah all the families there that's a if you if you've got jesus in your heart that's all that matters and we can we can look at death and laugh because we know where we're going is way beyond even the treasures here but i bet you've heard some stories about this place haven't you i know europeans have been here for 20 000 years wow i got the proof here in the ozarks yes sir i got the proof right now you want a picture of it yeah where's it at guys he's gonna go get us a video that's the top of the head the trunk coming down got the good sparkly quartz on it see there's a truck coming out got a long trunk right it's a mammal they called that when the mammoths were here right i mean thousands of years ago yes sir yes sir found that right there let me see one more time man it's [Music] they were here hunting the family i believe it uh over there in mammoth missouri yeah we got a little settlement over here called mammoth arkansas it's uh yeah this is the area where it would have melted this is the grazing area for the guys this time we're going from arkansas over and i'm just gonna put you guys down for one minute here after we get on i want to introduce you to the the main captain the head wizard good to see you the the bass boat check on the rig you can see there's more motorcycle people all sorts of people over there waiting to come that's super awesome they'll be back tomorrow this is a 40-minute wait about an hour outside of branson about 26 miles really but it's kirby 160 so he's got to go slow and uh it just takes the hour to get here the branch on basically still just first big city to be around they did say this used to be a canyon at one time guys this concludes today's video from the ferry you can see that there's more people waiting on the other side guys to be picked up actually i'll i'll actually get us docked and we'll go close there so i just want y'all to see the people that this is the constant highway it's like a highway of people guys but the highways stop because of
