Why is this Kmart STILL standing? Exploring inside a graffiti-covered wasteland

Hey guys today we are in Beecher MI at the heavily tagged abandoned Kmart. Sitting for 26 years (closed October 1999) this place was wide open and falling in on itself. There was an ALPO dog food advertisement still intact and a milkbone one too. On this cold snowy morning the store was so apocalyptic. There’s even a decrepit Arby’s sitting across the street. Hard to believe this place was once bustling with shoppers.
