A recent survey ranked Philadelphia the number one 'Foodcation' spot in the country, thanks to its iconic cheesesteak.
The morning buzz. We didn't need the
Michelin Guide to put us on the map. A
survey recently ranked Philadelphia the
number one foodation spot in the
country.
>> We have amazing food here. The new trend
is heavily driven by Gen Z and
millennials. And the survey conducted by
Talker Research found food lovers spent
an average of $900 on travel to
experience a regional cuisine. They're
willing to spend nearly $2,000 if it
means tasting something on their mustry
list. The iconic Philadelphia cheese
steak topped them all. New York style
pizza came in second, while Kansas and
Missouri rounded out the top three for
their barbecue. Most respondents say
they prefer hole-in-the-wall eeries over
bigname restaurants. I totally agree. I
always felt like if you have a hole in
the wall place, they're spending all
their money on food, not on rent, which
the big ones have to pay pay some pricey
rent.
>> People who always travel here and they
want to get a Philly cheese steak,
there's so many places to go. You got
Delandro, you got Pats, you got Gino's,
you got all these places.
