Japan 🇯🇵 vs. Thailand 🇹🇭 - Highlights | Women's World Championships 2025

Pompom has to go wide to start with an early chance break point for japan on serve a little tip wider it's kept up there's gonna be a lot of that tonight good touch down the line ishikawa swing out wide and the block is good at the start of the vnl but one already tonight that's kept up thailand scrambling already kojima second swing for sato is kept off the floor that's off the hands this is only the second rally cross court pompon great touch now i like to pimp each other off the hands yes you know oh my goodness this defense is off the charts are you kidding me yoshino sato this team going to put a bit more speed on the ball well the quality ball in ishikawa get up in the air she's waiting she's hanging the blockers coming up and then down and then hang time ability to make your decision once you're up there is phenomenal no one in the stadium thought that was going in the players were shimamura still at the service line picking up another race two in three serves ishikawa oh beautiful a serve from maya ishikawa look like a deer in the headlights situation it's a pretty heavy serve bench dancing yeah good ball in seki with options goes for sato who gets blocked trying to do too much that was not the ball this week hayari miyabi pompon has to bump set off the hands of course this covering behind yoshino good first touch and another chance for thailand another lovely set magic direction i mean look at pompon here when she takes contact of the ball her shoulders are justice for middles yeah that's right another good block touch but thailand can go again the slide attack this time oh goodness me justice for middles great swing great dig and a free ball thailand defense off the charts and now japan will have a swing for the points that they can't convert and it goes to pompon still no kill blocks for japan oh my twice in this point from shimamura and it's gonna go down offishikawa and again middle blockers fair enough if you get two three blocks in a row great 18 15 shimamura another great touch thailand just cannot find the floor but ishikawa can an ace here would be very welcomed indeed instead picks up my ishikawa cross court oh it's a beauty it's a beauty from wada and looks at nothing else on the court i mean i know she's seeing the only thing with winning your point on serve to open the set is if the opponent's side out doesn't really count does it so they've got to get this break point now to really make it stick brilliant cover that was kojima oh and then pushed into space by sato how about this pickup from kojima just out of nowhere i mean she read that yoshino great serve creates the free ball opportunity seki with her options goes for shimamura that's a wonderful response happy opportunity if they can snatch those away that could be a way back in you gotta you gotta steal a couple of points first touch but oh doesn't finish it thailand starting to defend so well but they can't finish the job surely this time goodness ishikawa can't get there thailand with so many opportunities one has to go down or does it kojima out wide ishikawa bumps off the heel of the hand this is spectacular ishikawa again blocked again all the way across the net kojima good ball in and airi buries that this is going to be the one japan takes it well that is the break point gone it's 11 11 and that one bounces up on sasipopo it's a nice touch and a slight attack and another fabulous dig that was chachu on he's defending brilliantly as is yoshino ishikawa into the block thailand were back ahead m during this long rally is they're having to go back and forth left and right would somebody please spare a thought for the poor middles just showing off she's got airi on a string there's no chance she's getting out there in time shimomura though who has served beautifully in this game so far drops a little bit shorter on women rat goes out wide and yoshino can make a dig and what a dig it is right back at you say thailand seki oh two delightful we haven't seen her get aggressive at all this entire match and she waits until right before set point and thailand on the move it is still set point for japan there have been three oh no it's done just gets tired yeah good block so shimomura out of this rally ishikawa very much in it a it's just pushed aimlessly and koji mark and receive off balance that was from ishikawa she's gonna go again and she's gone thailand great pressure she's off to one of your former employers next season i love that for her she'll have a great great club seki struggling to get through at the moment ishikawa oh yes shimomura with reception tapped down and tipped over by natalia chan my ishikawa game's top scorer 12 attack points one service point chachuan receives that's fabulous that is so good if she gets 27 points tonight i'll buy you dinner sides out for 12 14 competitor oh she's gone for that but the ball in fantastic is on and here she is serving onto chat you want quick passing the block is in these two teams perfect example of offense sells tickets defense wins yes a couple of blocks in there as well still a break point lead that's still up sake does well not to touch the neck but the block is huge that's highlander up to 20 21 20 sign out volleyball not enough for either of these teams now we need break points and wada unloads just every time the ball goes through she's scoring a point 21 21 she brings the best out of the libero from backcourt big chance for japan ishikawa no chat you're over the touch great block great pickup and a free ball seki still in the air thailand needs something a recycles but it's overcooked the crowd is silenced thailand commiserate one another and japan celebrate they have done it
