Hola, welcome to Butterfly Spanish, me llamo Ana and in today's lesson you'll learn to
talk about numbers.
Okay, well, this lesson is important for four reasons, maybe more.
First, you can give your phone number, you can ask a phone number, you can give your
address, you can ask for an address.
You can talk about money and you can ask how much is it, maybe if you're on vacation.
Okay, so let's get started.
There's probably, I'm going to divide my lesson in four parts.
Okay, first we're going to go from one to ten, then from eleven to nineteen, from twenty
to twenty-nine, and then from thirty to ninety-nine.
Okay, this is going to be our lesson, after we're going to go through some useful questions
and answers in which you can use your knowledge about numbers.
Okay, so let's get started.
First of all, let's go through here, sorry, here.
So, uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, siete, ocho, pinocho, nueve, diez.
Now we're going to go eleven to nineteen, okay?
So, once, doce, trece, catorce, quince, dieciséis, diecisiete, dieciocho, diecinueve, okay?
So now, we're going to go twenty to twenty-nine, and this is going to be very easy, okay?
Because it is veinte, then you'll memorize veinte, veinte, okay?
So, from one to veinte, de una a veinte, you memorize them, and then you go like, veintiuno,
veintidós, veintitrés, veinticuatro, veinticinco, veintiséis, veintisiete, veintiocho, y veintinueve,
okay?
If you see, they have the same root, the same beginning, veinti, veinti, veinti, veinti,
and then you just attach from one to nine, and you write it all together, okay?
Now, even easier, from thirty to ninety-nine, you don't even have to put all together, you
just have to attach words, okay?
So, it's treinta, thirty, cuarenta, cincuenta, sesenta, setenta, ochenta, ochenta, noventa, okay?
And, you can attach the next number, the décimo, treinta, y, y griega, remember, if you go
through my lesson about the alphabet, you'll learn this, y, treinta y uno, treinta y dos,
treinta y tres, treinta y cuatro, and so on.
So that means, from thirty to ninety, you're going to attach the word, the letter y, you're
going to attach the letter y, and then, one of the numbers you need from uno to nueve,
okay?
And these are separate words, sesenta y ocho, but, veintiocho, together, from twenty to
twenty-nine, separate, from thirty to ninety-nine, okay?
Now, why is this useful to you?
Okay, well, with these numbers, if you learn these numbers, if you've memorized and understand
these numbers, you'll be able to ask, how much is it?
¿Cuánto cuesta?
How much is it?
¿Cuánto cuesta?
You answer, ¿cuesta cinco pesos?
¿O cuesta dos dólares?
Okay?
Number, no, b, what's your telephone number, what's your phone number?
¿Cuál es tu número de teléfono?
Okay?
My number is, mi, mi número es cuatro, uno, seis, siete, siete, seis, dos, ocho, cero,
siete, and so on, whatever is your number.
The other useful question is, how old are you?
¿Cuántos años tienes?
How old are you?
¿Cuántos años tienes?
Now, in Spanish, you'll say, I am twenty-four years old.
I am twenty-four years old.
In Spanish, you'll say, tengo.
You'll use the verb, tengo.
If you don't know how to use that verb, you can also go to my other lesson on that verb
and learn different ways of using that verb, okay?
Tengo veinticuatro años.
I am twenty-four years old.
Tengo veinticuatro años.
Now, the other one is, what's your address?
¿Cuál es tu dirección?
My address is, mi dirección es.
Mi dirección es, and you pick the number, re-address, the name of the street, and you'll
be able to know all these questions, okay?
Well, I hope you enjoyed this lesson.
