So right here in town is this apartment complex. They have an apartment available,
a two-bedroom unit. They're going to show us. I don't know. I'll see if I can figure out what
the name of this place is. Chris walked in and started asking questions. So apparently
900 US dollars for a two-bedroom apartment here monthly. Monthly. Monthly. How much,
what is the name here? Aqua? Aqua Residence? Yeah. Okay. Oh, sorry. All right. Aqua Residence.
I'll put this on the map for you guys. And room 102. Okay. Oh, this is a nice size, huh?
The kitchen. There's a sink outside here. Let's check out the bed. See if the bed's soft. Oh,
decent bed. Decent bed. Nice and padded on top. And here's the second bedroom. Oh,
this is the big bedroom. This is the master. This is a big bedroom. A little worn, like they
could redo the floor. It's just that old tile. This bed's soft too. It's a little older condo,
but very, very roomy. Very roomy indeed. Got your own bathroom here. Okay. Another bathroom there.
Very nice. And a little balcony. Just a little balcony with some laundry. All right. Very nice.
Thank you. Apparently Chris is going to make them show us the swimming pool. There's a swimming pool
and a gym. We're going to go on the top and look at the swimming pool. These nice young ladies are
students, but they work too. Work full time? Work all day, every day? Yes. And go to school? Yes.
So how much time do you sleep at night?
She works full time and goes to school.
Wow. Oh, way up here high, huh? Okay. A little mini infinity pool. Very nice.
Look at this. This is the town, guys. This is it. On top of Siem Reap. Oh, and the gym's up here too.
This is the gym you get. Okay. A little older equipment. So that apartment, that's month to
month. You do need to put a one month security deposit down. So basically 1800 US dollars moves
you in. But if you want to do like a long-term lease, maybe six months or one year, one year,
you're going to get a discount. They don't know how much. The girls don't know how much. They'd
have to ask their boss. But I guess you probably save at least a hundred bucks a month, I would
guess. Maybe, you know, so 800 bucks. It's roomy. It's roomy. All right. Bella's Pizzeria, Western
Cuisine. See how much a pizza is here. Seven bucks for small, 13 medium. Okay, I'd have to
see the size. I guess I can't know by three different sizes. Didn't have the inch. So this
is in that area, not too far from Pub Street, right across the main intersection from Pub Street.
Lots of restaurants. Very busy area. This is the tourist area.
Lots of farangs here. Lots of foreigners. Catering for the foreigners here.
What do we got here? Ramen Korean. All right. Pancakes, $1.50. Sandwiches, $5.00. Hamburger, $5.00.
Not bad. Breakfast, $4.00, $5.00. Not too bad. This is a motor carrier violation here.
No flag. Look at that. That's way past the three feet with no flag. After dark at Siem Reap,
things really start coming alive. Take a walk around a little bit.
Show you a little bit of the nightlife here. We're going to go find a restaurant over here on
Pub Street to go eat at. Supposed to be really good Khmer food called Mesa.
We actually read about it and then one of the workers at the hotel told us about. So this is
like a walking street here. Shopping, different things. And then Pub Street is up here.
We can walk down here real quick, I guess. Check it out.
Yeah, so restaurants, street food, some different things on this street. Kind of one of those
streets they shut down at night, make it a walking street. The Pub Street though is just all bars and
restaurants. This one is a little bit more, a little bit more vendors and whatnot. Everybody
asks you though, you know, toot, toot, toot, toot. And you know, the vendors try to sell you stuff.
But as far as like big cities and popular, they're not too aggressive like I've seen in a lot of
other areas. They're actually pretty nice here. So this is where this street kind of coincides
here with Pub Street. And I think the restaurant we're going to go to is at one of the ends of
this. I'm actually gonna have to look at my map. Somewhere around here. Okay, so I figured it out.
I saw this on the map and I figured out where this restaurant is. We sat here the other night,
had a beer. This is a nice seats right here by the street. Thank you. And this restaurant's
supposed to be down at the end of this street. And this is it right here. Alright, so one of those
menu deals where you gotta go through it with this thing.
Can add, add everything and order on this maybe. Well, you guys know what I get. It's like a lot
of nice stuff. Similar to Thai food. I ordered a water. Look at this water. This all for me?
Big? For me? Boy, I'm very thirsty, huh? I just want, I don't want this much water.
You want some of my water? You can just, oh, they don't have small.
I just said water. I don't know how much is water.
What do you see? I want to get, uh, I think there's too much water for us.
Yeah, you can make two small ones instead of one big one. Yeah, that's better. We don't share.
So look at this, uh, ribeye. They had ribeye, so I didn't get Thai food or Khmer food. Okay,
we just ate at this, uh, mesa. I had a ribeye steak. Cooked, uh, I always order it cooked medium.
I like it medium rare. I always order medium because they always seem to undercook things here.
So they did. So I got it medium and it was medium rare, which is how I like it. It was good.
It was good. It was very thin, but only 20 bucks U.S. and it said the steak was from America.
USA steak. So what do you expect? But it had a very good taste and I'm pretty happy with it.
Had mixed vegetables and whatnot. So not too shabby, not too shabby. Want to be on YouTube.
Say hello. Hello. Temple Club. Where's Temple Club? This one here. How late stay open?
How late, uh, stay open late? Four, five?
Oh, two? Oh yeah, but stay open late at night? Uh, so morning stay open long time?
Oh, you're not. Let me see. Okay, thank you. Okay, so there's a lot of, like, dance music
clubs over here. This one, Temple, is pretty popular and I guess there's multiple. I think
these bars are open till like five in the morning. So I don't know. The latest I was out was like
10 o'clock and they were already starting to get kind of crowded. So I don't know. This is it.
This is Pub Street. Maybe if I'm around later and when it livens up a little bit, I'll show you guys.
I don't know. Maybe I'll have a beer. All right, we're gonna go walk around a little bit. Maybe go
check out the, uh, market. The market over here. Show you guys real quick. So that's where I ate
last. Okay, so we just stayed at that Mesa. First night, ate dinner here at the Mexican restaurant.
Second night, ate dinner at the Greek restaurant and we went tonight for, uh, Cambodian food and
saw the steaks on there. Ended up getting a steak. So that's how, uh, three days in here haven't had
any Cambodian food, but it just all looks like Thai food. I mean, maybe in Phnom Penh I'll get
some Cambodian food. I think I will. I mean, I definitely will. Maybe like market type food or
whatever. The problem is here is we get so much food for breakfast. Uh, at the hotel you get the
free breakfast. So, you know, it just, it kills most of your meals for the day. I'm just eating
one time a day at night out at restaurants. I like to experience different, different foods,
different restaurants and eating that garbage at the hotel every meal. I mean, it's not bad,
but it's just, you know, your typical hotel food. Hamlet station, pancakes, that type of thing.
Yeah, we've been over here 15 times. Oh, anybody want a jersey? Official NBA. Wow. Nice. What a deal.
Surprised nobody ran up to help me. Oh, that's from that temple we went to,
the trees growing through the walls and everything. That was a cool place. That temple was awesome.
I'm okay. Thank you. So yeah, this is the Riverside Night Market. I'm gonna go walk,
see if we can get across here. If I don't get ran down.
So, this is where we were considering eating tonight over here by the,
by the river. This is really nice, this river walk and everything.
You can walk across. I'll show you this one. Oh, this is a little heart bridge. Oh, maybe,
people are walking. You cannot, cannot cross if they take picture. Okay. Very nice. Very good.
Yeah, we'll check out the river here at night. Oh, more colorful this way. Oh, this is nice.
There's benches here. I can just sit right down here and relax a little bit. I don't know where
my friend Chris went. Apparently, they got some interesting snacks over here by the bridge.
Maybe a little snake on a stick. Scorpions. Got scorpions. Oh, you got the regular crickets and
mealworms. Got a little frog snake. One dollar. One dollar each snake. Oh, these are tarantulas.
Okay. Very nice. Very tasty. So, the street here lining the river is just loaded with
local food stands, street food. This seems to be the biggest street food.
Hello. Oh, I just eat. I just eat. Next time, though.
A little beer here. What do we got on sticks? We got squid, shrimp.
They look like pepper. Oh, eggplant. Oh, thank you. Yeah, we just eat. How late you stay open?
Look at this. 36 fruits and rice wine. All different types of flavors. I don't even know
what some of these things are. Oh, star fruit. Delicious. Oh, jackfruit. Rice with jackfruit.
Rice wine with jackfruit. So, these old European people drinking that rice wine. I mean,
I don't know. I'm not into drinking methane or whatever they put in things like that. Not to
say that that one is, but I just don't take any chances. I'll stick with bottled beer in places
like Cambodia and even Thailand, Laos, Colombia, basically anywhere. Maybe some limoncello in
Italy might be good. Spain, Italy. I don't worry too much in Europe, but the other countries I
worry. Dominican Republic. Ain't no way I'm drinking any liquor there. Right here at the
corner by the river, you got the Hard Rock Cafe. Very loud. Very loud. This is definitely a
copyright violation. Maybe live music, though. I wouldn't mind seeing some live music. Yeah,
this might work. Departing Siem Reap for Phnom Penh. Just a few parting words. Would I recommend
Siem Reap? Hell yeah, I'd recommend it. If you're coming to Southeast Asia and say you're going to
Thailand and you want to go to Malaysia or Philippines, definitely put Siem Reap in as
one of your spots. You got to check out Angkor Wat. The town really surprised me. It's a really
cool, nice town. Lots of nightlife. I mean, I really, really enjoyed it last night. We went to the
Hard Rock Cafe. Like right out front, they had seats on the main street with an amazing band,
Filipinos. The best singers ever, you know, from the Philippines. So I would highly recommend it.
Parting words, a little travel advice. If you're touring around Cambodia and you want to go from
Siem Reap to Phnom Penh, me and my buddy each spent like over a hundred dollars a plane ticket.
But we didn't realize that the airport is so far from Siem Reap to the airport. It's like over an
hour. So for 100 bucks, instead of paying 100 each plus $30 for the taxi to and from the airport,
we could have just taken a taxi. 100 bucks to Phnom Penh, five hours. Well, by the time we
got to the airport and we're waiting for the flight, then flying and getting to the other
airport, then taking more transportation, it would have been easier just to take a taxi.
Probably the same amount of time. We would have got more scenery, maybe stopped at some other
places and checked it out. So my advice is take a cab from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. This flight,
probably not worth it. I mean, we didn't know. We thought the airport was much closer to the city.
