Stegra is facing financial difficulties Now the state is stepping in with 390 million kronor
What do you think about that Tobias Andersson
First and foremost Stegra must meet the conditions set in this decision that the Energy Agency announced yesterday
This means that if they don't get the capital they've stated they need they won't get any of these millions from the Energy Agency
Having said that I and the Sweden Democrats don't think the state should play the role of venture capitalists neither in general nor when it comes to these large green ideological projects
You were very early in your criticism of the Norisvåld and thought the state should not inject more money there What do you think about this decision
It's irresponsible I know that as a government agency you should ensure that the company receiving the state support is not in financial difficulty before paying out the funds
There are many who claim that Stegra is It would then be very strange to give money to companies that are currently struggling because most of it would go towards interest payments on debts in such a scenario
This is also something the EU says In other words city subsidies should not be paid to companies that have this type of financial difficulties
The Swedish Energy Agency needs to convince me and certainly many others about how they arrived at this assessment and why they conclude that Stegra does not have financial difficulties
Stegra says this is an important symbolic gesture for them when they are seeking capital elsewhere Do you have any expectations regarding Stegra
So it's certainly safe There is certainly an ambition from many companies to go to lenders and investors and say here is a certificate that the Swedish government supports me because we have received city support
That doesn't mean we can give all Swedish companies money just to make it easier for them to move funds elsewhere
I don't really buy that argument It's at least not sustainable in the long term
I have a hope that it will work out After all no one is happy when companies fail people lose their jobs and investments go to waste
Many questions have been raised about Stegra and I don't think either they or the energy agency have managed to answer them yet
Norrlandsvåld has gone bankrupt Stegra is in financial difficulties What is your opinion How do you think Norrland can recover after a possible Stegra bankruptcy
I think it's important regardless of which country it affects that the public has a completely different type of risk awareness going forward
To not only think that everything green is fantastic and risk public funds to enable green dreams
I really hope this leads to a renewed awareness among politicians decision-makers and authorities about how we promote this kind of project
No one is happy about a bankruptcy I hope it gets resolved But if there is a bankruptcy we should not spend the last months pouring more tax money into the company
