The Folin–Wu method of Dr. Ranjitha Hegde describes a procedure for estimating blood sugar levels based on the reaction between glucose and copper reagent in an alkaline medium. On heating, glucose deuterates Cu²⁺ producing a characteristic color, the intensity of which is measured photometrically to determine the exact sugar concentration.
