Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson criticizes the Social Democrats' shadow budget and argues that several of the proposals lack funding
The government particularly focuses on the proposal to remove the care allowance which according to the government would need to be funded through lower wages
They do not fund all the proposals they mention and talk about
It leads to a budget surplus of approximately five billion up to 2028
And besides you know people do a lot of patching and fudging
I think one can expect more from a major opposition party that also aspires to power
The subsidy that exists here which they also do not finance will ultimately mean someone will have to pay for it
The risk is obviously very high that it will result in lower wages
At the same time the finance minister sees signs that the Swedish economy is recovering from the latest recession
Household purchasing power has begun to strengthen but uncertainty about the future keeps consumption cautious
We see a certain lightening now in the recovery and how safe it is for households
The households are also partially on hold We don't know what will happen in a year or later but I see the light and it makes me happy
Regarding local taxes Svantesson says that many municipalities especially Stockholm need to prioritize more in their budgets
For example here in Stockholm taxes have been increased year after year during this term for hardworking people and it makes a big difference in their wallets
We need to get better at prioritizing We do this with our budget For example we have reduced aid
We have changed the tax credits deductions and other things that allow us to have money for other purposes
So many municipalities also need to work
The state also has a general responsibility for soft drink subsidies of course and we take a major share of the responsibility
