The S1 cameras deliver virtually everything
that a solo shooter would ever need from a hybrid camera.
You have access to OpenGate in all three of these cameras,
but the main difference being that the S1R Mark II
shoots in 8.1K OpenGate, but the S1 Mark II
and the S1 Mark IIe shoot in 6K OpenGate.
This gives you room to reframe your image and post
with ease to fit whatever end deliverable
that you will ever need.
But the S1 Mark II is the only one capable
of shooting in 5.1 60P OpenGate.
This, paired with multiple frame markers,
is a powerful combo, but we will cover that later in a bit.
Inside these cameras, you also have access
to ARRI Log C3 via paid upgrade.
This allows you to use them as B cameras on set
to easily match your footage to ARRI cameras.
Here is how you access it.
Simply go to video page one, select photo styles,
and scroll until you find ARRI Log C3,
and you're ready to go.
These cameras are jam-packed
with all sorts of aspect ratios,
but the newest one that was just added was CinemaScope.
These resolutions add cinematic bars on the top
and the bottom of your footage, right in camera,
giving you that cinematic look.
So if you're one of those people
that likes to add those black bars in post,
it just got easier.
To access CinemaScope,
it's as easy as changing your recording quality.
Go to video page one, record quality,
display filtering, resolution,
and in here, you can access
your 6K CinemaScope aspect ratios
and your CS 4K aspect ratios.
The S1 Mark II cameras can record 32-bit flow internally
using the XLR2 microphone adapter.
So you no longer need to stress
about your levels when recording.
32-bit flow is an audio format
that gives you extra dynamic range to your audio signal.
This format gives you the flexibility to recover audio
that usually would be peaked when something is too loud
or bring back audio when it's recorded too low.
To enable the adapter, go to video page one,
scroll down to audio two,
and in this menu, click the XLR mic adapter setting
and turn it on.
Then simply scroll up
until you find your sound record quality.
Within this menu, you'll find your options
and simply set it to your desired 32-bit float option.
The S1 Mark II cameras have the ability
to sync timecode via Bluetooth
using a device like the Atomos Blue.
Timecode makes it much more convenient
for your workflows to sync your footage
when using multiple cameras.
You can now internally record
up to 5.8K 30P ProRes RAW HQ
and 5.8K 30P 422 HQ.
So you can have the highest quality
and flexibility in post as possible.
And here's how you change your recording quality.
Go to video page one, scroll into image format one,
select your record file format,
and change your format to Apple ProRes.
Then simply choose your record quality
and just make sure you have the media
that can handle this kind of data.
When it comes to external RAW recording,
you can record OpenGate 12-bit RAW
with the Blackmagic Video Assist and the Atomos recorders.
This will give you the ultimate flexibility
to edit your video settings in post.
And here is how you enable it
when using the Blackmagic Video Assist.
Go into the video two menu and choose RAW over HDMI.
Now connect your external recorder via HDMI
and be sure that your RAW is enabled on your recorder.
Video shooters are gonna love
all the Pro Video Assist tools inside of these cameras.
These cameras have Log View Assist through HDMI
and monitor, anamorphic desqueeze,
false color, waveform monitors,
vectorscopes and histograms, and way more options.
Whatever assist tool that you need, it's got you covered.
The majority of them can be found
within the cogwheel section of the menu
inside of the monitor and display page.
In this day and age, reframing is crucial
to make sure media can be viewed in its native format.
With multiple frame markers,
you can easily have up to three different frame markers
to make sure that you're framing up your shot correctly
and avoid any headaches in post.
And here is how you access it.
Inside of the cogwheel section of the menu,
scroll down to monitor display video one
and click on the frame markers.
When you click on set,
you will see your three options
to select your frame markers.
When you click into one of these,
you can select between 17 different presets
and even make a custom one.
You also have the option to select your frame mask opacity
and you can also enable
and disable live view frame adjustments in here.
This allows you to move your frames
in real time before shooting.
As you can see, there's no shortage of video tools
and capabilities that these cameras have.
No matter your situation,
you can trust these cameras to have you covered.
