Climb Longs Peak! Solo ascent of the Cables Route on the North Face

Longs Peak has many different routes to choose from, and one of the most popular is the Cables Route on the North Face. It is the most direct route to the summit of Longs Peak and is exciting in any season. This route formerly had a set of fixed cables attached to it that offered the casual adventurer a "lifeline" to aid ascents of this technical face. Removed in 1973, the cables are gone but the steel eye-bolt attachments remain, used by climbers year- round as protection points and as anchors for rappelling.
