hello everyone 안녕하세요 welcome back today's lesson is lesson 7 shopping
we have this topic from the basic Korean conversation class right but however as
usual I add more expressions which is a more advanced level so you're gonna
learn about this okay let's see what we're gonna learn today shopping the
first expression is words of clothes like when you want when you go when you
want to go to shopping you want to buy some clothes hats maybe bags or shoes
but if you don't know how to say that in Korean you're gonna have a problem you
can just say like I want a lot I want to have this I want to have this right you
have to exactly say what you want so we're gonna look at words of clothes
first and next expression is it fits nicely so you you went to shopping with
your friends and your your Korean friend are gonna so nice if it's nicely right
so you're gonna learn this expression also then the third expression is it's
expensive and cheap oh it's expensive oh it's cheap you know it's about the price
so you're gonna learn this and the last expression is do you take credit cards I
know most of stores usually always take a credit cards but sometimes if you go
to Dongdaemun store they're not gonna probably take credit cards so you have
to ask this question first before you buying before you buy clothes okay so
let's see the first expression words of clothes excuse me words of clothes let's
see the first one clothes clothes this one clothes in Korean 옷 옷 옷 very
simple right just one word 옷 옷 got it okay and the next one blue jean blue
jean which is in Korean 청바지 청바지 is pants and 청 means blue so blue jean
means 청바지 청바지 right 청바지 and skirt skirt 치마 치마 치마 and hat hat 모자 모자 모자 and
shoes 신발 신발 신발 and running shoes running shoes 운동화 운동화 운동화 one more time totally
clothes is referred to as 옷 옷 옷 it's easy right just one word and blue jean 청바지 청바지 and skirt 치마 치마 and hat 모자 모자 and shoes
신발 신발 and running shoes like it's the famous brand is Nike or Adidas
Puma something like that right so running shoes 운동화 운동화 so when you just
walk into the store you wanna like you wanna buy a skirt so oh I like that
skirt what's that that means 저것 right so 저치마 저치마 you can say it like that okay what about
this skirt 이치마 this means 이것 이것 but 것 means things so just to say 이 and
plus 치마 so 이것 아 이치마 이치마 make sense so please memorize these words for your
better shopping okay and the second expression is it fits nicely it fits like nicely fit means
oh that looks so good right fit 어울려요 어울려요 and nicely 잘 잘 one more time fit means
어울려요 어울려요 okay and nicely 잘 잘 so let's see how to say this expression in Korean
it fits nicely nicely comes first 잘 어울려요 잘 어울려요 I'm really sorry it's winter so it fits nicely 잘 어울려요
잘 어울려요 okay so like you try to wear a skirt and your Korean friend is look at you
and tells you oh it fits nicely it looks so good 잘 어울려요 or like you can tell this expression to your Korean friends
oh 잘 어울려요 잘 어울려요 right vice versa it's same so 어울려요 잘 nicely 잘 fits
okay let's the conversation do you remember this expression this is what you learned from
the basic Korean conversation remember okay so may I try this one may I try this one this 이거
I told you this 이거 and try may I try
one more time
you liked that shirt or skirt and you asked oh may I try this one
right 이거 입어봐도 돼요 and the manager says of course of course
this is a new expression take a look at carefully
물론이죠 of course
yes you can try okay one more time may I try this one
and the manager in the in the shopping center says of course
okay good and five minutes later I try to wear the clothes and the manager and A says
I like this one I think you are familiar with this expression too okay
마음에 들어요 I like this one
and B says it fits nicely wow 잘 어울려요
make sense so just imagine that you walk into the store and you saw really really beautiful skirt
and you ask the manager oh may I try this one
and manager said of course 물론이죠 and five minutes later and you wore the skirt and you
really liked that so you said I like this one 이거 이게 마음에 들어요 and the manager says
oh it fits nicely 잘 어울려요 can you see the like the process of this conversation
okay good and the third expression is it's expensive it's expensive and or it's cheap
it's cheap let's see expensive means 비싸요 비싸요 비싸요 비싸요 and cheap means 싸요
and it's expensive it's same here 비싸요 비싸요 and it's cheap 싸요 싸요 okay but it's too
simple right you want to say oh it's really expensive it's really cheap how can you say
really really means 너무 너무 너무 so oh it's really expensive oh that's too expensive right
when you say this expression in Korean it is 너무 비싸요 really 너무 비싸요 너무 비싸요
what about this it's really cheap which is good right wow it's really cheap how can you say
wow 너무 싸요 너무 싸요 okay so really means 너무 너무 so it's really expensive 너무 비싸요
but it's a good thing it's really cheap 너무 싸요 너무 싸요 make sense
expensive means 비싸요 cheap means 싸요 싸요 all right good let's see the third conversation
how much is this how much is this how can you tell how can you say
right 얼마예요 얼마예요 one more time 얼마예요 얼마예요 and you ask the price
and the manager says it's a hundred thousand won wow right a hundred thousand in Korean
a hundred thousand is
okay and one one so it's a hundred thousand won
okay
which is really expensive in American dollar U.S. dollar it's gonna be
like one hundred dollars almost one hundred dollars or more okay it's a hundred thousand
won a skirt with us it's only a skirt but it cost one hundred thousand won one hundred dollars
which is really expensive isn't it right so 십만원이요 a hundred thousand won
and you are so surprised and you says wow wow it's real expensive wow it's same
okay you're amazed with with the price wow wow wow and it's real expensive
really
okay
so oh I like this skirt okay and you tried and it fits nice really nicely and you ask the price
how much is this and the manager says it's a hundred thousand won
in U.S. dollar it's $100 for one skirt and you were so surprised wow wow it's real expensive
okay so far so good are you following me okay good and and two second and third conversation
I combined two types of conversation here so let's see and you walk into the store and you
found a really pretty skirt or blue jeans whatever it is and you ask this question
may I try this one how can you say very good that's right
oh I like this one
and the manager says of course of course what's that uh it's a new expression so you might not
remember that so let's see what it is
oh of course no problem
and you want to find oh you don't know where the fitting room is and you ask this question oh
you know this expression right so how can you say that's right
the fitting room is in Korean
so where is the
okay so far so good I don't think it's really too hard and next it's over there oh I know this
expression too it's over there what's that
okay oh where's the fitting room where's the fitting room
it's over there
and five minutes later and you really like that I like this one
I like this one
and it fits nicely oh that's so good it fits nicely what's that
wow so good
okay so it's over there the fitting room is over there
and
okay and you ask the price how much is this it's so simple so I'm gonna pass this
and B says it's a hundred thousand won
in Korean
wow it's 100 dollars for a skirt
and wow wow wow it's really expensive
right can you see here so far so good so wow
okay good and the last expression is do you take credit cards do you take credit cards
credit cards card card credit cards is card card actually I missed the word it's
I missed the but we usually just say that we just we usually just call that
card however more exactly credit cards is
okay one more time
okay so but we can call this card as well however
is more correct expression okay and do you take
so do you take credit cards see English is long however on the other hand Korean is simple
right so do you take credit cards credit cards card card card is card card okay card do you take
okay make sense
so it's expensive but you want to buy you really like that and so you want to purchase it but you
so you can ask the manager do you take credit cards okay so do you take credit cards
okay let's see the conversation oh before the conversation I prepared this new expression
okay monthly installments so in Korea maybe or even in in U.S. you found really like really beautiful
clothes or TV something like that and you really like it right so but so you want to pay that with
your credit cards but it's too expensive it's more than 100 or 400 maybe so you can use monthly
installments plan in Korea too we can use monthly installments plan okay but however you don't know
how to say monthly installments usually when you pay the money with your credit cards the manager
you always ask you so do you want to use the monthly installments for three months or six
months or a year like that so if you don't know how to say this you're not gonna uh you you are
gonna have a problem all right so monthly installments in Korean
one more time
and three months installments with no interest I like this way so three months installments in
Korean what's three Arabic number
month is usually wall as you learned however with uh when it comes to installments it's
like when you count months first month second month it's not like that one month two months
okay so three months in Korean
so three months installments
one more time
so oh do you take credit cards how was that how's what's that in Korean
and I will pay with three months installments
all right okay so three months installments
and let's see here six months what's six Arabic numbers
and 12 months it's a year
12 as an Arabic number
so one more time monthly installments in Korean is
and three months installments
six months installments
and 12 months installments
okay good okay now final review hey may I try this one
right
and he says of course
and where is the fitting room
where's the fitting room it's over there
and five minutes later oh I like this one
and oh it fits nicely
it looks good you're so pretty
it fits nicely and oh really okay how much is this
and you can say the manager says it's a it's a hundred thousand dollars
one hundred dollars in US dollar
wow it's really expensive wow
but you want to buy that right so you asked do you take credit cards
and B says
of course yes
and you can pay and you can use uh I will pay that with three installments plans
three months installments
all right you can you you can say that after this conversation okay so so far so did you understand
all the expressions really okay I believe you and next time we're gonna come back with
lesson eight making an appointment making an appointment so it's also not that hard
because based on all the expressions you learned from the basic Korean conversation
you're gonna I add just a little important expressions and conversation so you're gonna
learn that with me together and you did a really good job please practice hard and I will come back
with this lesson later okay thank you
