What's the PLAN for WINTER and Our Off-Grid Island Home?

Join us in this week’s episode as Peter and Carol help Matt and Caroline pack up their belongings, load what they can into their vehicle, and carefully store the rest before waving goodbye as they begin their long drive across the country to their new home in Montana. It’s an emotional moment and a big milestone for our family as they start this exciting new chapter. After seeing them off, we head back up to the island to begin shutting down our off-grid cabin for the winter. We walk through our seasonal routine of collecting supplies, topping up propane, organizing fuel, stacking firewood, and pulling our boats out of the water for winter storage. Once everything is ready, we turn off the power to the cabin and prepare to retreat for the colder months ahead. This episode is full of family moments, forest sounds, off-grid living, and seasonal prep that many of you have asked about. Stay tuned—next we’re flying back to Germany to reunite with our Rossmönster overland truck and begin our winter journey through Portugal, Spain, and Italy. Adventure season is just getting started!
