Congress Probes Dangers of CCP's Rare Earth Monopoly
The House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) on Nov. 19 warned that China’s dominance over rare earth minerals has put the U.S. economy and national security at risk. This comes just weeks after Beijing cut off rare-earth exports to the world, triggering a trade war now paused by a one-year deal. But it remains to be seen how long that deal will hold, considering the unreliability of the CCP holding up its end of such deals. In the meantime, the panel recommended that the United States de-risk from China's supply chain as quickly as possible.
