Combine one of the prettiest lakes in Washington with some of the best non-larch fall color, and you have an amazing hike. This year the snow came too soon, so posting some old pics. A stunning sapphire-blue hanging lake (1000+ foot waterfall at its outlet straight down to Deep Lake), nestled in a beautiful cirque framed with multi-colored peaks, hugging the side of Mt Daniel. Peggy's Pond (shown) is passed on the ascent just after leaving the PCT. If you remember the fall of 2022, this was a smokey day, but that kind of added to the surreal light and color. ~17 miles and 4500 ft RT ... and this day I did not see another person for the whole 8 hours.
