A new prosecutor was appointed on Friday in the Georgia election case against President Donald Trump and others after Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was removed from the case last year. Pete Skandalakis, the executive director of the nonpartisan Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia, was assigned to select a prosecutor. He selected himself, saying he was unable to find someone else.

The United States will slash its tariffs on goods from Switzerland to 15% from 39% under a new framework trade agreement that includes a pledge by Swiss companies to invest $200 billion into the U.S. by the end of 2028, the Swiss government said on Friday. U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said earlier that the U.S. "essentially reached a deal with Switzerland" and that the White House would announce details later on Friday.
