In this video, I take only a 40mm prime lens into the field to capture everything from broad horizons to close, detailed scenes. Along the way, I contemplate why camera manufacturers are suddenly releasing so many 40mm lenses — and whether this “in-between” focal length could replace both 35mm and 50mm in your bag.
