Whoa, what a climb! Let me fix my bun.
Welcome Bible friends. I'm so excited to have you in the Bible Tree House. That was a climb.
Well, listen, we're getting ready to go on another Bible adventure. And so I'm excited
to invite you to come in and to get cozy so we can learn about God together. So I want to ask you,
do you know what a garden is? A garden is a place that's usually set outside of a house
and you can find fruits and vegetables and different types of plants and sometimes trees
even planted in the garden. I wonder, can you help me figure out what we would find
inside of a garden? Let's talk about some yummy fruits. Would you find apples, oranges,
and what about watermelon? Do you like any of those? Let's talk about some yummy veggies.
I'm thinking about lettuce. And what about tomatoes? Oh, and what about carrots? They're
so good for the eyes. And let's think about some of the animals. Have you ever seen animals running
through a garden? Because sometimes we can't keep them away. Have you ever seen rabbits?
What about little cats? Hmm. Let's talk about a really big animal. What about giraffes?
I know we usually see big giraffes inside of a zoo, right? But what if I told you that there
was a very special garden, God's garden, and every fruit, every vegetable, every animal that you could
imagine lived in God's special garden. Do you have any idea what the name of that garden was?
Eden, you are so smart. So today we're going on another Bible adventure and we're going to learn
about God's special garden and the two people that he created that were very special in that space.
Are you ready? Okay. But first, what do we need? We need our sword. That's right. I'm so glad that
you remembered this from the last episode. We need our Bible. Bible. There you are. Hello,
Bible. Why is our Bible so important? Because it's our sword. Can you say sword?
Very good. Our Bible is so very special because it protects us from lies and it gives us the truth
about who God is to us and who we are to God. And it's God's special love letter. We learn
all about God, everything he created, and his plans for our life. And today we are traveling
to Genesis chapter two to learn all about God's special garden and two very special people that
he created to take care of it. Are you ready? Let's get started. It's Bible story time.
A long, long time ago, after God made the whole world, he planted a garden called Eden. Can you
say Eden? Oh, you're so smart. And this garden was full of trees, yummy fruit, and sparkling
rivers. And the sun shined brightly and the birds sang happy songs and it was the perfect place.
But something was missing. God had already made animals, tall giraffes, and playful monkeys,
and soft bunnies. But there was no one like him. Nobody was like God that was in the garden to take
care of the garden and enjoy his creation. So God did something amazing. He took dust from the ground
and shaped it. Do this with me. Take both of your hands and pretend like you're collecting dust.
And when God had collected the dust, he breathed his own breath into it.
Can you breathe into your hands? And when God did that, suddenly the dust became a man.
And his name was Adam. God placed Adam in the garden and gave him a very special job.
Take care of this beautiful place, God said. Adam got to name all of the animals. Isn't that fun?
He called some of them lions and others were called elephants and some funny looking ones,
he called them zebras. But as Adam watched the animals, he realized something. There was nobody
like him and he was all alone. So God saw this and said, it is not good for man to be alone. I will
make him a helper just right for him. So God made Adam fall into a deep, peaceful sleep. Can you
fall asleep? I would imagine that Adam fell into such a deep sleep that he was snoring just like
that. And while Adam slept, God took one of his ribs from his side and he created the very first
woman. And when Adam woke up, he saw her and he was so happy. This one is like me, Adam said with
joy and he named her Eve. And they became the very first family. And God smiled at Adam and Eve and
he blessed them. He gave them everything they needed and told them to take care of his creation.
And they walked with God in the garden. They were full of joy and peace and because God had
made them for each other. And that's how God made the first people. Well, it's time for our biblical
affirmations. Can you say affirmations? Very good. Affirmations are what we say to ourselves so that
we can begin thinking and believing great things about ourselves. You know, God thinks really great
things about us too. And so it's important that we say the things that God thinks about us so that
no one can ever tell us a lie. Nobody can ever make us feel bad about who we are because God
thinks great things about us. He believes great things about us and he has great plans for us.
So let's get ready for our affirmations. The first thing I want you to do, I want you to close your
eyes and I want you to take your arms and I want you to wrap them around yourself into a big hug.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and let it out through your mouth.
One more time. Take a deep breath in through your nose and let it out through your mouth.
Do you feel relaxed now? Good. I'm going to say the affirmation and then I want you to repeat
after me. Okay, here we go. God made me special and with a purpose. Genesis 2 and 7.
God provides everything I need. Genesis 2, 8 through 9. God's plan for family is good.
Yes, it is. God has a special purpose for you. God provides everything that you need
and family is very special to God. Today we read that God walked and talked with Adam and Eve.
And do you know that God still wants to walk and talk with each of us? Now how do you think
he does that? That's right, with prayer. So let's take a moment and give God thanks.
Dear God, thank you for creating the world so beautifully and for making people in your own
image. I know you made me special and with purpose just like you did with Adam and Eve.
Help me to trust your perfect plan for my life. And Lord, thank you for giving us family and
friends so we are never alone. Teach me to love and care for others the way that you want me to.
I want to walk closely with you just like Adam and Eve did in the garden. I love you, God. Thank
you for loving me first. And together we say, amen. Well, listen, I can't wait for another
fun adventure here in the Bible Tree House. So until next time, remember that I love you
and God loves you too. Bye.
