Hi, I'm Dan Atherton, and this is our AM170, a hard-hitting big mountain enduro bike, now available to buy on the website. Capable and versatile, with a mixed wheel configuration, straight through seat post, and 170mm on the rear. This bike is a big hitter in the bike park, and a beast out on the trails. Our brand new Mullet Build AM170 is handcrafted here in Machynlleth, and if I was only allowed to choose one bike, this would be the one I would choose. It's most at home charging downhill, but it also builds upon our award-winning AM150, so it's amazing on the climbs. You can boost jumps and really push it hard in the park. You can throw it around the Oakley Line nicely, and it'll feel just like a mini DH bike. But it's also awesome out on the trails. When I head out on a staff ride, or onto the long Dovey Enduro tracks that we've built, this bike is all-time. And you can pedal it back up to do run after run. Moving to a Mullet setup means we can have a straight through seat tube, so you can keep the seat low for descents, but still get maximum pop on the climbs. The seat tube angle varies with size, to make sure you're in a great seated position on the bike. The 170 comes in 22 different sizes, which means every rider can get the perfect physical fit. 20 years of racing showed us just how much of an advantage that brings. So when we started Atherton Bikes, we wanted to offer that to everyone. We're doing three distinctive builds, with a choice of air or coil on the rear. 170 or 180mm up front, to give you an even more personalized riding experience. As with all of our AM range, any of our recommended builds can be spec'd to suit you. So if you don't agree with some of our choices, use our builds as a springboard, and swap out any of our listed components for your own favorite. This is our Fox factory build, with a DH X2 rear shock. 180mm Fox 38's on the front. FSA bar and stem. Hayes Dominion brakes. Continental tires. And Stan's wheel set. Or you guys can buy a frame and shock, and add any components you like to it. Lug and tube construction make our bikes super strong. So we can offer a lifetime first owner warranty. Additive manufacturing means we can achieve the perfect balance of stiffness and compliance. So whether you're climbing or descending, this bike gives a totally mind-blowing connection with the trail. One of the main things we hear from our customers, is just how confident this bike makes you feel. All of our bikes are built around the DW6 suspension platform. What you'll feel on the bike is suppleness at the top of the stroke. Good support in the mid-stroke, then the progressive kinematic accommodates even the biggest of hits. All our bikes come with port to port cable routing, and a down tube protector. Pretty important in the W slate. Everyone's always searching for that one bike that can do everything.
