The Grape Farmer’s House by Keisuke Noda Architects in Fuefuki, Japan, reimagines the comforting atmosphere of a traditional grape arbor once used by the architect’s grandmother. Designed with a low ceiling of 1.9 meters and structured around a 2-by-2-meter grid inspired by vineyard trellises, the 151-square-meter home embraces openness, simplicity, and connection to nature. By translating the intimate scale and tranquil experience of resting beneath grapevines into a residential form, the project celebrates memory, human proportion, and the quiet beauty of everyday rural life.
