From Nebraska to Zimbabwe: How RAGGE Empowers Girls and Combats Human Trafficking
Join Deb McCaslin, founding board member of the Rotary Action Group for Girls Empowerment, as they share powerful insights into their multi-faceted approach to fighting human trafficking through education and skill development.
In this presentation, Deb discusses their impactful work in Nebraska, where their Rotary Club's screening of "Sound of Freedom" in Broken Bow sold out for six consecutive weeks, raising crucial awareness about human trafficking along local highways and online. Learn how they bring trafficking education directly to schools, reaching about 1,000 students across a four- to five-county area.
Deb also details an inspiring global grant project in Zimbabwe, where 133 schools received sewing machines to keep 9,600 girls in school and out of prostitution. Facing the highest teenage fertility rate in sub-Saharan Africa and expensive high school tuition, these girls learn valuable skills including sewing washable sanitary pads and gain marketable abilities that local businesses seek.
