Why We Need Social Media That Actually Serves Humanity | Ganjing World Explained

Thank you so much for the intro. This was one of those roles. I've worked a lot with different projects, humanitarian projects. I actually tried to start a stop organ harvesting concert in Los Angeles in 2015. I personally was out several hundred thousand dollars to create that venture. And believe it or not, it was actually stopped directly by the CCP calling the state of California and basically putting an end to the event before it could even start. So I personally have seen the influence of social media, the influence of government agencies and things like that on culture and on human rights, especially organ harvesting. So this project for me really, the title says it all, which it's an unveiling of the wonders of Ganjing world and exploring an online platform built for community first. So if you can go to the next slide. So we're gonna go through a couple topics, kind of how I became a media director for Ganjing world and why that's important is I do have a full-time job as a CEO for an educational tech company where we're basically redefining how education works. And the idea behind that is potentially in seven years when my daughter is 17 years old, she'll actually be able to get a education at a 10th of the price of what's happening right now with mainstream universities and colleges. I can't talk about the merger yet as it is a New York stock exchange traded company, but we're very excited about it. And once the merger is complete, I'll actually be CEO of the larger enterprise. So when I started working with Ganjing world, I was offered the media director position and the only requirement for me was that I wanna do it as a volunteer. So I don't get paid for this position. This is something I do purely from my heart. And I think that's really important because these are the things that are lacking in big corporate America. And I really do believe in value creationism as the core purpose of entrepreneurship and basically the free market economy, right? So the idea is, can we create value with the things we're creating rather than trying to extract value? So I'll get a little more into that as we go through this. We're gonna talk about why community is first on Ganjing world and how seriously they take that. Features that make Ganjing world stand out. And then how you basically can join this world community today and how it can help not only rotary but everything you're doing in your life. So as mentioned, Ganjing simply means clean. And so the idea is to have a Ganjing World and the mission is to uplift people through technology by reconnecting traditional values and divine culture and daily life. So there's a lot to unpack here in that statement. And really you can see this picture kind of is a thousand words where she's doing kind of a yoga stretching position. She's doing things for wellness. And so the idea when this platform was created by Chinese Americans was to basically say let's create something that actually brings value back into your daily life. And if you believe in it brings divinity and that essence back into your daily life. So the idea here is to start with the values and the morals and then create the technology and the AI around that. And so at Ganjing world, we say everything we're creating is technology for humanity which sounds extraordinarily obvious but I think everyone on this call will understand and we'll deep dive this into the call. But there's been a lot of technology that's actually decreased happiness and increased anxiety and increased addiction. So we'll get more into that later on in this presentation. Next slide, please. And for anybody that has any questions just please save them for the end of the presentation. We're gonna do a Q&A at the end. So just write them down and we can answer everything at the end of the presentation. So I just wanted to go through some of the synergies here between Ganjing world and Rotary. And for everyone that's here, I was a Rotarian for about three, four years. I was also part of a satellite club, interesting enough. And this is a global network of over a million people which is neighbors, friends, leaders, problem solvers and it's people that wanna unite and take action to create lasting change across the globe, in our communities and in ourselves. And this parallels Ganjing world very, very well. And I always like to bring up something very interesting that a lot of people don't know about which is the Vitruvian man. You've probably seen that picture. It was made by Leonardo da Vinci. And it's basically this man with perfect proportions but people don't know that that Vitruvian man was actually based on an architect that died 1500 years before Leonardo da Vinci's time. And he was an architect that said, basically we need to bring utility, longevity and uplift the human spirit in everything we do architecturally. And so if you now span this across multiple industries and you span this into technology, that's exactly what Rotary is doing. And that's why it's such a wonderful organization. And it's exactly what Ganjing world is doing as well is creating something that has longevity, has utility for humanity, but then is also uplifting the human spirit. Next slide, please. And so the idea here is with both Ganjing world and Rotary, we provide service to others. So it's not about ourselves, it's about what is the value we're creating for others, about promoting integrity and advancing world understanding, goodwill and peace through our fellowship of business, professional and community leaders. Next slide, please. So when we talk about reconnecting to morals and traditions, it's very odd for this to be a starting point for tech company. And the reason I'm involved with Ganjing world to reiterate is because this is the starting point and then literally everything else is built with this foundation. Next slide, please. So through the utilization of technology, we're dedicated to revitalizing traditional connections, fostering a culture of care, kindness, mutual respect and trust among individuals within families and throughout society. So holy cow, you can see the parallels here between Rotary's mission and Ganjing world's mission. Next slide, please. And so the power of community is really what's core and essential to Ganjing world. And what I tell people is when you dive into Ganjing world, the idea is to really immerse yourself in the community. So we have a lot of community members that will even show things that are against Ganjing world's mission and then Ganjing world will have the ability to essentially respond and make adjustments to those things. Next slide, please. So this was very exciting. So I'm somewhere in this picture in the very back. This was the grand opening of Ganjing world. And so this was a basically ribbon cutting that happened in New York, not Silicon Valley in a town called Middletown. And the mayor came out. The idea is we had people literally coming from California, literally coming from Texas, coming from Silicon Valley to work in this very small, almost rural town in New York. And the idea is the company's foundation shouldn't just help humanity. It should actually help the community that it's embedded in. And the root should actually reach out into this community and uplift that entire community. So it's really such just a wonderful mission. When I was there, all of the politicians from the town were very, very moved. And they said they've never seen a grand opening this grandiose in their little town before. And you can tell that that spirit and that kind of divine essence was there that day. And it was really heartwarming. We had influencers there, as I mentioned, politicians, news anchors, and it was really a monumental experience that this seed is being planted in a small town. So it's really about decentralizing this sort of big tech mindset and saying, hey, we can create something great in a small town and we can grow on a worldwide scale. Next slide, please. So as we said that the tech needs to start with mission, essentially over profit and values over control. So I was doing an interview with Jan Jekielek on his show, American Thought Leaders. And he said, I'm really interested in the profit model for this, because it seems like by starting with the things you're excluding from the platform, you're already losing out on profit. And my answer to that was very simple. And basically, just jokingly, I kind of said, who cares? And what I mean by that is not every company in the world is after the maximization of profit. And so the idea between Ganjing World is to say, hey, we're going to become profitable, but we're not focused on extracting something from the user in order to gain profit. The values have to stay and the mission has to stay over the controlling of the profit engine and the controlling of the ideologies. Next slide, please. So the essence of Ganjing World, for those that aren't familiar, is it was created for like-minded individuals and organizations that want a safe place. And I put in here a safe place for kids specifically, because I want to get into why that's so important. And the idea here is to create a G-rated platform, free from violent, erotic, criminal, and harmful material. So when you think about social media, I'll go on Instagram sometimes. I don't use a lot of social media at this point in my life, but I'll notice things, I'll see things that are actually kind of shocking to me. And these are things that a 12-year-old or a 13-year-old has access to. And so when Ganjing World was created, it was very important to basically say, hey, this needs to be created as a G-rated platform that's family-friendly and a safe place for kids. Because right now, there really is no safe place for kids. So social media isn't a safe place for kids. YouTube isn't a safe place for kids. And this was created to really be something that's family-friendly and keeps its mission. Next slide, please. So some of the features that make Ganjing World stand out. If you go to the website, you'll notice that it has these really wonderful categories. One of the categories that stands out for me is mindfulness and then the kids' corner, as well as kind of hashtags and reads. And so where all of these come together is again kind of creating this really incredible community. Very few non-mindfulness apps actually have a mindfulness category. So every part of Ganjing World was constructed to be holistic for your well-being and holistic for the well-being of your family your friends, your neighbors, and your children. So as you go through it, you'll notice that the algorithm is then giving you inspiring content based on what your interests are and not trying to drag you down this addiction loop. So later on in this, I'm going to talk a little bit more. We can go to the next slide about the addiction loop and the non-addictive algorithm. So Ganjing World's non-addictive algorithm basically liberates users from endless scrolling and addiction with the priority being valuable information and inspiring content over just the next thing that gives you a dopamine hit. With AI recommendations, users will be able to take full control of their digital experience, expand their horizons, and embrace meaningful engagement with the community. So this is kind of an analogy I give people specifically about kids, which giving a child access to social media or YouTube is basically like giving them a bag of fentanyl and saying, good luck. And I say that in such a way that they're finding now my daughter has a disorder which basically is attention defiance disorder where it's basically a defiance. And what we'll find is if they've actually done studies on this, if a child is on a screen for more than four hours a day, they're 70% more likely to have defiance and disruptive behaviors. So if you really think about that as a parent and how scary it is and how TVs are everywhere and screens are everywhere and everyone has access to these things, it's not a nascent technology. And I really wanna get into this a little bit more detail here. And what I've been telling people is that when your child turns 12 or 13, you basically need to give them a birds and the bees discussion on their biology and how technology hijacks the dopamine response system. And this sounds like a lot, but this is a conversation I have with my daughter quite a bit. And she is starting to kind of understand this. And the idea is you basically have to kind of cultivate your intent on why you wanna use social media to begin with. And I think we're Ganjing world is really striving. And what my main role is to actually educate the public on the biology behind using these platforms. No other social media is explaining why they're dangerous. They're just kind of putting it out into the world. And again, they're saying good luck. So when I sit down with my 10 year old, my 12 year old soon to be, and she starts getting more access to social media, I'm going to explain things like when a video pops up on social media, most social media works by seeing what you're most addicted to, giving you a dopamine response, and then trying to create an addiction loop. And so we know there's a professor out of Stanford called BJ Fogg, that the opposite of addiction is connection. And part of connection is community. And so it's really important as human beings that we understand these things before we're getting into them. And blatantly, even as adults, I'm sure we've jumped into the wormhole of two hours of social media. And at the end of it, we felt drained, and we had less energy, and we were less vibrant. And the whole purpose of creating this platform is to say, hey, this is a safe space that we're changing how these algorithms work. We're wanting to give you more inspiring content, more valuable information, and not get you into this addiction loophole. So let's move on to the next slide. And there's studies after studies after study on these sorts of things. I've just linked one study here, which just talks about passive scrolling on social media is linked to anxiety, it's linked to depression, and it's linked to stress. And I certainly don't need any more anxiety, depression, and stress. Coincidentally, it's what the float pods and sensory deprivation remedies. And it's why I created that enterprise 10 years ago, was to actually reduce anxiety, stress, and depression. And what we're finding, not to just go back to my other company, but what we're finding through meditation and what we're finding through EEG scans and flotation, if you float in a float pod for 60 minutes, we actually have EEG scans showing that it's as effective as an antidepressant if you turn the lights off and it lasts for up to 20 hours. So there's a bunch of research going on, I won't get into that right now, but we're really finding that all of these things, all of this technology absolutely has an effect on our biology, and we need to understand how our biology interacts with these things. Next slide, please. So what's really important and one of the main features of Ganjing World is of course, filtering the images and things like that for content that perhaps is harmful, that is violent, that is erotic. And so one of the things that Ganjing World is really focusing on is this AI image filtering. And when a video is uploaded within milliseconds, as we do this, we're able to actually block the video entirely or what's it called, blur out the things that are inappropriate as long as the rest of the video is appropriate. And these are very important. Next slide, please. As there is a lot of research going on and controversy, which is simply this statement tells it all. Does violent media cause violence in children? And unfortunately, overwhelmingly scientists are finding that yes, exposure to violence in television and social media and movies can cause more aggression in children and even into adulthood. So we're really starting to catch up. There's a center called the Center for Humane Technology, and it's run by a gentleman named Tristan Harris that used to work at Facebook and left Facebook. And what he found is, all of these things need to be created in such a way that we understand them, but then we create these tools that actually help us instead of harm us. Next slide, please. So another key issue that people talk about is privacy in the data center. So I'm not gonna read this one. This is pretty tech heavy. But the idea here is that when you're browsing through Ganjing World, we really wanted it to be something that was easy for the average user and didn't immediately start collecting your information, selling it to advertisers and then advertise to you. So when you're on the site and you don't log in, there's no identifying information that's trying to be collected from you, number one. And when you leave the site, there's no cookies or nothing's following you around to track your behavior. So you'll notice with a lot of the changes with Facebook and YouTube, that when you leave these sites, they're still tracking you and they're still collecting data for their advertisers. So we're absolutely not doing that with Ganjing World. Now, when you do log in and create an account, you'll actually create your interest profiles and then the algorithm will work in your benefit to actually give you things that are inspiring or are on your mission. So part of our responsibility as human beings when we use these things, and I touched on this earlier, is to actually understand, okay, what is our intent when we're going into a social media session? Are we using it passively to just relax and we wanna maybe a laugh or we want some relaxation? That's okay in moderation, but it's just about us really being aware of our own state when we're in there or are we going in there to learn something specific and we really wanna just learn maybe how to learn a new language or we want to show our kids something that could be educational. All of this has really been thought out with Ganjing World. Next slide, please. So we're getting towards the end of the presentation and then we're gonna open it up for Q&A. I saw there are quite a few comments coming through, but I really think everyone should just try to join Ganjing World and really understand this is a safe community. It's a community that has like-minded people. It's a vibrant global community that's really trying to grow. Next slide, please. So how you can help, next slide, is by actually actively joining. So some of the key things are events and we're trying to create entertainment that builds community here. And we understand the power of entertainment is fostering connections and building communities. And part of this is, next slide, please, every month there's basically a new initiative thus far. This month, the idea is to reward kindness and it's hashtag kindness is cool. So you can basically follow this hashtag. And when you follow this hashtag on Ganjing World, you're gonna see all the videos, all the blogs and all of the pictures that are associated with it. Ganjing World is a little unique. It's not just a YouTube replacement. It does have more community aspects to it where you can actually start a conversation globally around a topic or around a video or around a hashtag. And you can also blog on the site as well. So it's really entertainment, social media and video all in one. And so Ganjing World's kindness is cool video awards has a $10,000 top prize where you can get featured on a New York City Times Square billboard as one of the rewards. Next slide. And so I think the takeaway for Rotary is to really know that this is a safe place to share ideas. It's a safe place to blog. It's a safe place to actually create a community. And this is something where you can share projects, video ideas or blogs. And I'm on Ganjing World as well. But that's it for the main presentation.
