Firmin Baes | A Master of Pastel / Chopin

Firmin Baes (1874-1943) was a Belgian painter, a master of pastel art who was considered by many to be the best pastel painter of his time.
He became particularly skilled in this medium, using it almost exclusively after 1900 to create large-scale works with a refined technique, luminous colors, and a unique velvety texture that often made them resemble oil paintings.
