In 2001, Cleveland Hopkins Airport wanted to expand by creating another runway. They bought all the homes in this Brookpark neighborhood and razed them, but never completed the project. Brookpark was not happy. Cleveland traded NASA Glenn to Brookpark for the IX Center and thought it would make the city happy. The homes were torn down in phases between 2001-2009. The streets were blocked off and they sit empty but mowed. What a waste of a project! At least follow through with what you are going to do or if you can’t, why not put a park here?
