Simple, Smart, and Sustainable — The Modular Homes Inspiring a New Way to Live | Modular Houses in Piracaia
The Modular Houses in Piracaia, designed by Arquipélago Arquitetos, present a sustainable and replicable housing system that combines rammed earth and wood construction. Organized in modular sizes of 50, 100, and 125 square meters, the project uses rammed earth walls as structural elements that support wooden roofs through compression, balanced by steel ties in tension. Thoughtfully designed details — such as elevated walls for moisture protection, wide eaves, and multifunctional wooden furniture made from construction materials — highlight the harmony between traditional craftsmanship and modern modular design, offering an innovative model for future eco-friendly housing.
