Things To Do In Sun Moon Lake, Taiwan 🇹🇼 Shuishe, Xuanguang Temple, Ita Thao / Nishi V

We spent 2 nights at Sun Moon Lake for my birthday. The hotel surprised me with a cake and decorated hotel room, and we took a boat trip around the lake, visiting Xuanguang Temple, trying the infamous tea eggs and hiking up to the top for views of the lake and Lalu island. We also spent a lot of time wandering around Ita Thao village sampling all the street food and tried some high mountain oolong tea, before coming back to Shuishe Pier. The only thing we didn't do is ride the cable car as the weather was so bad when we visited, we wouldn't have been able to see anything.

We stayed at Fuli Hot Spring Resort https://booking.stay22.com/nishiv/RmpgylDRN7 (which I would not recommend. It's a very dated, dusty hotel with dark interiors that doesn't feel very clean.)
