NORTHWEST PASSAGE
We’re sailing through one of the most remote and extraordinary regions on Earth — the Canadian Arctic. 🇨🇦 In this video, we join Aurora Expeditions on an Arctic cruise through the Northwest Passage, one of the most legendary and challenging sea routes in the world.

Our journey begins in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut, and takes us across Canada’s far north — through icy seas, remote islands, and breathtaking polar landscapes — before arriving in Pond Inlet, Nunavut, on the northern tip of Baffin Island.
We visit incredible places like:
• Bellot Strait, a narrow and powerful channel where the Atlantic and Pacific tides meet.
• Beechey Island, home to the haunting graves of Sir John Franklin’s 1845 expedition.
• Devon Island, the world’s largest uninhabited island, with its vast tundra and Mars-like terrain.
• The Devon Ice Cap, one of the largest ice caps in the Canadian Arctic, with breathtaking glaciers and ice formations.
• And many other remote Arctic stops that few travellers ever reach.
Throughout the expedition, we’re lucky to spot some of the Arctic’s most incredible wildlife — including multiple polar bears, beluga whales, narwhals, seals, seabirds, and even Arctic foxes. Watching these animals in their natural habitat is an unforgettable experience.
Wildlife Disclaimer:
All wildlife was filmed responsibly and from a safe distance, following strict expedition guidelines. Some scenes may appear close, but all footage was captured with a long zoom lens (EF-M 55-200 mm) to ensure the safety and well-being of the animals.***
This truly is our most epic adventure to date — a once-in-a-lifetime expedition through Canada’s true north. 🧭
Next week, we continue our Arctic journey in Greenland — stay tuned!
