He wouldn't be my first pick for this, but here we are.
Austin Paz is a respected, aggressive skater who's been doing it
for a very long time.
So naturally, I asked him to help me test a new urban skate.
The Icon ACTTR.
Neither of us have ever skated these before, and instead of testing them
somewhere safe and smooth, we're doing it out in the wild.
We start outside the courthouse, where Austin shares some of his
stair bashing philosophies, some correct and others questionable.
Then we make our way through Police Plaza and down to the Brooklyn Bank.
Along the way, Austin breaks down his complex approach to jumping obstacles.
Jumping over something.
You want to make sure you clear it.
We'll see how those ideas hold up.
If you stick around till the end, you'll see Austin's kryptonite
and we'll share our first impressions.
Not going to lie.
I was kind of surprised.
Do I have any lines?
I don't know what we're doing.
If you want to have lines, have lines.
Yeah, yeah, it's quite a direct though.
Are you rolling?
Are you sure?
Is there a door over here that you want to see?
Hey everyone, welcome back to another YouTube video.
Check out Austin's channel on YouTube.
As of late, he's been making really stupid videos, but they're
extremely entertaining.
There's lots more stupidity coming.

I've never used these skates before.
I'm excited to try them.
They look cool. They look interesting.
They look fun.
Yeah, let's unbox these bad boys and put them on.
All right, so we got the Icon ACT Trinity.
Are we rolling, Dale?
That's not right.
Let's do that again.
It's a clean looking skate.
Everyone likes a nice, solid, clean black skate.
Yeah.
Instruction book.
Should we go through the instruction book together?
We're going to read the whole thing from cover to cover.
I will try not to stutter, OK?
Do you stutter when you read?
Not as much.
You don't stutter when you sing, though.
I don't stutter when I sing.
He does not stutter when he sings.
So everybody comment down below what song request you want him to sing
for his next video, and he'll do it stutter free.
Aren't you happy you chose to do a video with me?
This is like a really nice liner.
Yeah, I didn't expect the stock liner like this to be this good.
Yeah.
He's behind the camera today.
He's going to the bathroom with one skate on?
With one skate.
He's gone.
Man, they look good, though.
Yeah.
Whoops.
Did I just break that?
Yeah.
Did I really just break that?
Don't play that back if I broke that.
I was trying to kick my foot back in the skate.
Yeah, there we go.
That looks pretty sharp.
Oh, it looks sick.
It's really sick.
I feel like I'm on my heels a little bit.
What are you moving?
I'm going to move the cuff piece over a little bit.
Which is really hard to see.
I'm doing the same thing, moving it back.
See if we can get a little more forward flex out of it.
Yeah, there you go.
All the adjustments you can make.
Oh, that's actually pretty cool.
Let me see what this feels like.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah?
Way better.
Yeah, way better.
At least for my preference.
It's crazy how it affects it that much.
The stock way, for my personal preference,
I didn't have enough forward lean.
I felt too much resistance here.
And then when I pushed the cuff bolt back,
now I have a lot more forward flex, which is good.
I actually prefer this more than the stock,
but I think there was one more notch in between
that I didn't do.
So I'm going to go to that middle ground.
I think that'll be the perfect setting for me.
I'll be honest, I was a little skeptical
with how much you could customize this skate.
I didn't know if that would compromise other aspects of it.
But I feel like I'm already sold on it
just by doing that one little adjustment.
Yeah, it's a lot better.
And I'm not on my heels as much.
Oh, that's so much better.
Yeah, that's so much better?
Oh, ----!
I'm not used to a 90 mil setup.
I'm so used to 80s.
It was fast.
For dramatic effect, I put the boxes there on purpose.
Oh my God!
Who put those boxes there?
All right, we're going to work on some stair rides right now.
Real quick, it's easier to go backwards than forwards.
Might sound a little scary at first,
but trust me, fakie is way easier than going forward.
If you have a rail or something on the side
to kind of hold onto while you try it out,
it's an easy and safe way to do it.
But it's a really cool way
if you're skating around the city, around town,
and you need to make it over some stairs,
you don't have to jump them.
That's a little dangerous.
You can just stair ride down them.
This guy's a professional.
I wouldn't go that far.
You guys are both nuts.
Fakie is way better.
Way easier, way smoother.
I don't know, it scares me.
Woo-hoo-hoo!
I wasn't expecting that.
That was really scary.
Next spot, Police Plaza.
Police Plaza.
The police are nice there.
Luckily, they let us skate.
Should be good.
Let's go.
Just keep it going.
That's that fresh rubber.
I have to get used to these, eh?
Oh my God!
Slipped out on that one.
Hang on.
Gotta make sure my wheels don't go...
I gotta go that way.
So I don't want to go this way and get stuck in there.
Oh, ----!
There it is, folks.
Don't put that in.
This line.
I'll roll the bench.
I'll launch off the grate.
180, then I'll fakie stair ride this thing.
Okay.
Oh, ----!
He skates so fast, man.
Oh, he got caught.
Oh!
Mega.
Add some style to it, you know what I mean?
This is cool.
Leapfrog action.
Woo-hoo-hoo!
What are we doing next?
We're now going to go to the iconic Brooklyn Banks.
A place that holds a lot of rollerblading history,
which I was not around to be a part of.
And now I'm going to tarnish it.
Let's go there on big wheels.
Woo!
The Brooklyn Banks.
I've never been here before.
It's big.
It's big?
You've never even been here before?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, wow, yeah.
Oh, my God.
I went way too fast.
Woo!
Woo-hoo-hoo!
Your man's first time at the Banks.
All right, we're coming in hot.
Ari Bortz.
He's a handsome guy doing this wall ride.
He's filming it.
Dale's taking the picture.
Oh, too much!
Yeah, it kind of puts you up.
As long as you don't do a running man, you're good.
I just didn't know how much speed I needed
for these skates or whatever.
Yeah, I wish there was a way to test it,
but there really isn't.
I'm just going to do a simple forward air first.
Yeah.
Here I come.
I wasn't going fast enough.
Oh!
All right, that feels like way more chill than I did it.
As you're airing, what are you thinking about?
When jumping over something,
you want to make sure you clear it.
You'd rather go too far than not enough.
So in the beginning, I was just making sure
I was going almost as fast as I could
to make sure that I didn't clip the rail.
This goes for jumping over a bench, a garbage can,
a curb, whatever it is.
Just make sure you over-jump it rather than under-jump it.
You'll be much safer if you have to bail.
That's still on my mind now
with whatever I want to do next.
Oh, ----!
Oh my God!
All right, I'll try this one more time.
Vlogger Austin here.
This is not Ari's cup of tea,
but that's what I love when he skates with us
because us aggressive skaters push him a little bit
outside of his comfort zone
of weaving in and out of traffic
on the way to B&H to pick up his camera gear.
Definitely can do this.
He just has to be confident enough to get up there.
And that's what me and Dale are here trying to do,
trying to get him comfortable to jump on this.
Here he comes.
Ari, drop it in.
You would need to go faster than that.
Whoa!
Ah, I fucked it!
Oh my God!
That was the speed and everything.
This is not meant to be.
It would be sick to see you do it.
To me, that crossing one is scarier than this.
Really?
Yeah.
Ah, that's ******* it.
Ah, that is the speed and everything.
Come on, man.
Yeah, it's just not gonna happen today.
Ah, he just doesn't have the fire.
Okay.
Oh, **** you, Dale.
**** you.
Halfway up the ramp, it's mad scary
because the rail's like still 10 feet above your head.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
I'll just go down.
You wanna go, right?
Let's go to the west side.
West side!
We don't have more...
Oh yeah, true.
We don't have more sun.
Everyone loves the west side.
For Ari, this.
Oh my God, golden receiver?
Oh my God, it's so soft.
Oh yes, give me a hug.
Oh my God.
What's his name?
Cooper.
No biting, Cooper, come on.
No biting.
Look at the way he's laying.
Does he always do this?
A little spoof.
All right, thank you.
Bye.
Oh, that's the best 10 minutes of my life.
Oh my God.
Ready to go to the streets?
Austin's a little winded.
A little bit.
He just tried to chase me.
A little bit.
Aggressive later stuff,
trying to catch up with the best recalator in the world.
Recalator royalty right here,
How are you feeling?
Good.
I didn't try to chase you.
I know how this ends.
So we rode the Icon ACT TRs.
First impressions for me,
they were pretty comfortable out of the box.
I liked the frame and the wheels out of the box.
They're kind of light.
They're very light.
I also enjoyed how comfortable they were out of the box.
I liked the adjustment too on the cuff.
Again, I said I was skeptical about that,
but off the bat, I did one adjustment
and it felt like it was going to be.
So they proved me wrong with that.
Thank you to Icon for spending these over.
Thank you, Icon.
We appreciate it.
Awesome skates.
Yeah, we're a big fan.
It looks great too.
Love the way it looks.
Yeah.
And I hope you enjoyed this.

Thank you.
Later.
As always, I appreciate you, Dale.
Thank you.
You should end all your videos like this.
Oh yeah, I should.
