Small table? Why not? I'll take this one.
Hello everyone, how are you? We are preparing for the winter, even though it's still hot, but
as you know you have to be prepared before the cold weather. One of the neighbors in the valley
gave us lots of wood, but we needed to cut it and the wood is so beautiful. There is an olive tree
and eucalyptus. You saw it just before, I saved one piece of wood because I find it so beautiful
and you can make something from it, like a little table where you can put a plant, for example.
You maybe ask yourself why I'm not wearing the gloves. Don't worry, I asked myself the same
question. I don't know where are the gloves and just need to be careful. This is a piece of the
olive tree, it's very beautiful. You know, you have a whole boutique selling the furniture made
of olive tree and the cutting boards and lots of stuff. This morning the sky was very special.
After a couple of rainy days the sun was trying to go through the clouds and I thought right away
that it can be a great time to go and look for the mushrooms. So even though I planned to stay
and work, but something tells me that we need to go out and the good thing is that I can work at night.
This is what I usually do.
And we are out now, also on the mountains but much upper than our village.
And on the way, right on the road, we saw lots of châtaignes. It's end of the season
so there are not too many but we still could find some. And here the colors of the autumn
are so beautiful.
Now we pass by the very beautiful village Suspel and I asked Chris to stop for a quick visit.
You know, I'm making travel videos and this village is not like for the whole video
but I always wanted to mention about Suspel so I'm happy for this quick visit.
It's about 20 kilometers from Montaigne and it has this beautiful bridge like the postcard.
This village is very residential and interesting thing that when we were looking for our house
we were considering to take one here in Suspel but it was too far from Monaco where we both
worked at the time. Now only Chris is working in Monaco but there are lots of people who
take the everyday road and go down for work. The prices here are very attractive. Well,
it was very attractive. Now the prices are high everywhere on Côte d'Azur.
And it was very interesting to walk here and to think of that it could be our home village.
This village is much bigger than our village. They even have a pharmacy
which I miss sometimes to have in our village. We have to go down to Montaigne every time.
Maybe you heard of Suspel already before but it's not a touristic village.
It's really very small. It's charming of course but it's not a touristic destination.
It's just a stop on a way to the mountains. We could live here. Very interesting.
I don't think that we would go to the beach that often anyway so I'm happy about our village.
A beautiful lavoire. A common bath area with a fresco. It must be very old
because the bridge was built in the 13th century so it should be very old too.
Okay, don't forget we're still on our way to look for the mushrooms.
We will continue the road. And this house you see in the house
above the the bridge it's an office de tourisme like a tourist information office.
The terraces look very sunny.
This road, very narrow road, is known for the Monte Carlo rally held in January.
Wow, very steep road. A part of this road of 31 kilometers features every year in the Monte
Carlo rally and the Col de Turigny. Look the photos of the cars everywhere. The Col de Turigny
is technical centerpiece of the rally. There are a few hotels and few restaurants and this
saucisson cellar that took all my attention. I went right away to check for the saucisson which
in France we eat all year round and for any occasion. So you have a nature. Then you have
a saucisson with the mushrooms inside, with the fromage, with the cheese inside.
And the other one is fumé, smoked. There are many different kinds.
And he gave a small saucisson as a present.
The people are always very very nice and the products are very delicious as far as you go
from the city center.
Now we are very hungry and we will eat first. It's already 2 p.m and the restaurants will be
closed soon. So we're gonna try this one. Okay let me tell a couple of words about Col de Turigny.
Here in this restaurant it's very rustic though, very charming. And we ordered the Provencal.
It's the plat du jour. So when you're in small restaurants like this, take plat du jour. So
don't order from menu. Order what they have like a plate of the day. And
do Provencal is one of a must try if you travel around.
This is chocolat fondant.
Thank you for this place for lunch and yummy things that we will bring home. It was nice.
Is it clean?
Nice to be back home. It's already late evening. The road back was very very long.
We're gonna make some quick omelette with the fresh mushrooms.
That was a lovely day to share with you. We actually found only two mushrooms and a frog
but it was nice. So I'm so grateful to share this day with you. And thank you,
thank you so much for everything. We love you all. Take care and we will see you very soon.
