Winter Decorate With Me 2025 / Refresh the Home Making It Cozy & DIY Look for Less

Hey everyone, it's Emily here. Welcome to my channel. I hope you're having a beautiful day so far Today's video is going to be a little bit of a mix. I have some winter decorating ideas to share with you today I'm going to share with you a couple different looks but a light and dark look So hopefully you'll be inspired and get some ideas to decorate your home and make it feel more cozy I know after the holidays and taking out all your christmas decor, it can feel very bare And my house is feeling that same way So i'm ready to beautify and give it a nice refresh and just make it feel nice and cozy I'm also going to be sharing with you a really easy diy that you can get a great look for less Great bang for your buck. I'm so excited to share it with you And then i'm also going to be updating my bedroom a bit And sprucing it up and just giving again a refresh and stuff and sharing with you a little bit of my garden plans and stuff So yeah got a lot in today's video. Everything is just kind of bare and i'm so tired of bear The fireplace kicked on so hopefully it's not too noisy. So for greenery you can go lighter This is like a frosted eucalyptus. You could do normal eucalyptus. You could do some cedar Um, some norfolk pine lighter if you want to have it feel not so Harsh in a sense so you kind of play with the different options for somewhere in between Between winter and spring I found these florals at walmart. Um, they're so good. This one Is just right ones in there. Yes, this one is just um, it almost looks like herbs. I really like it Uh, it's very subtle it's a nod to spring but it's not colorful these were five dollars I believe for three stems. So three stems looks like this So I would definitely suggest getting Two bundles so ten bucks really good. And then there's also this one here Let's take out you can see the difference between the two there This one has a little bit of peach and like a light mauve color uh So this is still not too springy either I feel like this would work just fine, but it definitely warms up the space This one is definitely not quite as full as the other one, but this is three stems again They're like five bucks for the set and then if you wanted to mix them you know kind of It gives you a very nice Um looks like you went out and picked them from the garden. I really like it It gives you a couple options that you can work with here. So hopefully that's helpful for you So this piece of art I had in the guest room And I love like the blue tones and it reminds me of the ocean And that would be delightful right now I thought this these two pair really nicely together the colors a little bit big for the size of the mirror the width of it But I just wanted to see I guess I could probably tilt it but it's supposed to be you know water in a mountainside, but we could Change it Remember when I changed the florals in the beginning how it gave it such a different look Changing the table color gives it such a different look too. So don't be afraid to try different things move things around the house That's part of the fun of decorating is repurposing things in different areas of your home. I love it I really like the way the entryway kind of progressed. I'm really torn though. Do I keep the black? Table no benches Or the lighter table with the benches. I like the benches because then people come over they can pull it out sit on it Take off their shoes, you know all that good stuff So i'm kind of torn but I like both of the looks a lot Let me know which one's your favorite and if you are going to try any of the looks I wanted to share with you a couple items that I found on walmart They're really pretty. So this one I shared with you over christmas time. This is a Faux fur pillow, but I love the detail. This comes in white. This is the cream or beige. I think it comes in black Might be one another color, but this is like an oversized one. This is like a 22 You're looking for a cozy accent. This is a great way to do it faux fur It's great for winter time depending on I guess where you live if you're super hot then obviously not But I really really like this because it really makes the house cozy and it's just soft to cuddle up in and everything You also have different blankets that you could get as well looking for something a little less, uh cozy Uh, that would be this pillow here This one has great texture texture is your friend textured items is a great way to decorate because it really adds a lot of depth To the space it may seem silly, but it really does these are covers by the way These pillows are under 20 bucks Um, I think some of them are even 15. This one has a frayed edge here But then it also has a blank side on the back So this one is really good it comes in a couple different colors and I really like the weave on it. It's soft, too So this is really nice. There is this pillow option as well. So you can see the two different textures there Um similar tones. This one's a little bit more of a darker tan, I would say Uh, this one is a little bit more creamy color again. It's one-sided, but it is a cover um And it's really nice this one I feel like was like 12 bucks, um, this one's a little bit smaller It's about an 18 by 18. But again, it's got a really good texture and it's soft I really like my pillows to be soft. I think I have like two covers a little bit rougher, but that's okay but um I really try to go for like a cozy feel because when you're sitting on there with your family you want to be comfortable I'm ordering a couple of the my texas house pillows. Sometimes, um, the store will carry them Sometimes they carry more of online. So I just ordered them right when it came out I got this pillow cover here Um, it's really pretty it's got it's a nice shade of blue It's kind of like a blue green, but it's just very subtle. It almost can come off gray, but it's not I really like this It's a lumbar. You can order the insert for it, too So if you don't if you already have insert awesome, and then this is just easy to store So there's this option the more color you have these two. They're the same pillow, but obviously different colors So this one you have just a couple of the flowers that stick out The rest are just stitched in but it's also a cover. So no worries on that Um, really pretty one-sided again, and then you have this one here peachy clay color It's a little bit more clay than again. It's a cover. It's one-sided. It's more of an off-white Coloring, but those are those two options for you Leave some of the pillow collections from walmart link down below for you Um there you can also find them on my ltk. I made a couple different boards of pillows Pillows are a really easy way to just swap the look of your living room your bedroom and stuff because again It's simple and if you're buying covers, it's really really inexpensive in stores easily You don't have to store all the pillows that's helpful to you and stuff But now I want to style up our bedroom. I really want to get that going Um, I have so many ideas for the bedroom and there's this look that I found on pinterest and I am just swooning over Maybe it was instagram. I don't know and I want to recreate that but I can't do that yet I've got to finish a couple other projects before I can do our bedroom i'm trying to complete a space before I move on to the next and right now i'm like working in a few different spaces and It's just like I don't need to add one more to it. That makes sense So but I have plans for the room. I'm going to do a wall treatment in there. I want to change the headboard and um, I want to possibly change the curtains to something a little bit darker, too But it all comes in time. I got a different rug for the space and again It's a work in progress, but I have a total vision for this space and hopefully you'll see that Come springtime i'll be able to devote more time to it and get that completely done and bring my vision to life So we'll see if that works, but we're gonna just update the bedding I feel like that's a really nice thing to do I miss having like the plush comforter and duvet So i'm going to add that back in and instead of just having the quilt the quilt's nice. I like it But I need I want more layers layers are really nice and it just makes the bedroom feel a little bit more luxurious Next project in today's video are my kitchen pendants Now I have been looking for pendants like crazy that are white in gold and trying to find a larger size like a 24 inch And it is literally impossible unless you want to spend 500 to a thousand dollars of light, which is crazy At least to me it is and so Um, i've been finding like smaller cone shape ones that I liked but they were all just like 12 or 15 inches And it just wasn't working So I found one on amazon that was all white and it's 19 inches And I was like i'm going to spray paint That's why I went to the store and bought two different types of spray paint see which one would work And the metallic one definitely works. I'm so happy with it Um, I went ahead and taped off the cone part of the light the the lampshade part And tape that off and then that way I could spray paint the inside of it I will say when you were doing this I had I guess a little bit of oils on my hands Which we naturally do anyways and my fingerprints came out on the lampshade So make sure that you when you're done taping it you wipe it all down And then go ahead and spray it. I had to spray it bring it inside spray it and bring it inside because it's so cold outside But I sprayed the stem of it and everything and it turned out so good They look fantastic it came with a chain, but also three different, uh Tall levers and I wanted to use those because I don't really like the look of a chain And I think it looks so good. So Um, if you cannot find a light that you like DIY it and save yourself some money these pennants. I think were like a hundred and forty dollars Uh each and then I spent five dollars on spray paint. So really I can't beat that I'm so thrilled with it and they look really good I'm still waiting on my upper cabinets to come but it makes such a difference having the light and i'm so glad I didn't settle or go out and spend thousands of dollars on the light because I got the exact look that I wanted the shade is a little bit skinnier than I had hoped for But i'm still really happy with it. And I think it fits the space really well So yay the last few days we have had so much sun. It has been glorious I have been able to go out and kind of set up a garden area And I was just so excited because when the sun comes out it could be 20 or 30 degrees outside But when the sun's out it feels like it's summertime It just beats on your skin and it warms you up and it feels like it's 60 or 70 degrees It is glorious if you know, you know But I got these raised garden beds from vego garden beds back in the fall and I wanted them For the garden and I thought oh, this is a good time But I didn't make it to doing moved in too late for me to get them set up so i'm moving them around on this beautiful sunny day and I'm trying to figure out how I want the spacing because I bought like 500 tulip bulbs. Yes I know i'm crazy, but I bought those before we moved and I thought this will be great I can get them all in I didn't get them in as you know um But I have all different shades of purple Like really deep purple and I got all different shades of pink and I got some daffodils and i'm so excited to like Plant them in clusters and just have a beautiful Spring garden and so i'm trying to determine where I want these out in the yard because we have this little bit of rock area and I want to add some flowers on top of that and then do them in some planters and then Come summertime plants and vegetables and stuff like that in them So i've been drawing out different ideas and stuff like that and trying to figure out what the best option is So maybe you have some ideas for me But there's this little hill that ramps up to that area and we're gonna put some um Like bigger stones for steps and then I want to put my archway over The area and then have like clematis grow up it on the sides because that will tolerate the cold and I think it'll be really beautiful so I'm, hoping um, I can get that done this spring and stuff. But yeah, um Got a lot to do but it just felt so good to be outside and kind of get that going The ground is currently frozen. So there's i'm kind of limited on what I can do Um, but I really hope I can get them in and they'll do some things We still have months of cold. So I think they'll be fine going on My mind is everywhere and i'm working on multiple different projects if you can't tell But I hope you enjoyed today's video and the decorate with me for winter I love kind of just making the house feel cozy again, and we have a long way to do But hopefully the fireplace will be in the next video so you guys can see that i'm gonna get the living room all set up And just refresh the home for 2025.
