Painting a(nother) Wall Mural! *i can't be stopped lol*

Are you planning on painting another Victorian wall mural in your new house? Yeah, I think so Let's ******* do it Hi Are you a full-grown adult who lives their life in such utter chaos that you and only you can truly understand it and also will spend hours upon hours on a DIY in utter disregard of your own man hours just to save a couple hundred dollars? Yep Hello Alright friends, we're doing it Not even six months into this new house and I got the itch And this itch can only be remedied by painting on my wall like I always wanted to do as a child but my mother told me no So here I am In all seriousness, the wall mural that I painted in my old house was one of my favorite DIY projects I've ever done I don't know, it was just so cozy, it brought me a lot of joy So here we are My bedroom is very, very boring right now I think I'm gonna stick with the woodland theme here and I'm going to paint this image Which weirdly enough is one of the screensavers for our TV because we have it set to just paintings So every time it pops up I'm like That's about it, I'm not gonna talk too much about this because it's pretty straightforward And I just want to get started This video is sponsored by HelloFresh But we're gonna talk about that a little bit later For now, going to head to the craft store Let's go I am here at the craft store I am going to buy just a bunch of paint I don't know how much paint I'm gonna need And this time I'm gonna use acrylic I'm gonna paint my walls because I'm an adult and I can do what I want Let's go get some paint Y'all ready to paint? Here we are So as you can see right now, it is just kind of boring Robin's egg blue A little overwhelmed Mural obviously is gonna go on this wall It's a little daunting because it's quite large A lot taller than my other house Let me show you what I got from Michael's Lots of freaking brushes Sponge Pallets And paint And that's it It cost me around like 80 dollars, I think Which is sort of expensive But also when you think about how expensive actual wallpaper murals are Piece of crumb cake Suppose we should start planning this baby out, huh? All right, first things first I gotta move this mirror Here we go Am I doing it? Let's go So first thing I need to do, plan out Right on it with a big old pencil Done And that's it, that's the video Thanks everyone Happy little tree I kind of also really like the idea of this archway So now that we have the outline Do the base of green Actually no, I take that back I'm going to do the the sky first Because you can just see a little bit of it poking out Oh I'm not overwhelmed Not at all Pallets really kind of make more sense with like big boy paints But you know what Very exciting I think we're ready for the green Trying to open the safety seal I've caught the black death Wow that is the most watery paint Garbage And so dear viewer, she just kept going Thinking maybe somehow, miraculously, it would stop sucking It did not One week later We're back I quickly, once I started putting the paint on the wall Realized that large vats of acrylic from pretty much any craft store Are pure... Garbage Super friggin watery Literally it looks like I painted this with watercolors I panicked a little and had to think of a different video idea so But we're back And I purchased hopefully some higher quality paints Paints specifically made for murals So this is mural paint by Chroma I'm not going to be too hard on myself with trying to replicate this photo exactly I'm just going to try to give the illusion We continue I'm going to try to just cover this pretty much all in just a base green And then we can go in and add other colors Yessss Let's get started again So plan is, dark green wash I think I'm going to add the brown of the trees with a base brown And I can add more details in the foreground Artist terms Walking around like the John Travolta gif Oh boy Pure Nickelodeon in the early 2000s Oh thick Yeah that's some goop Oh thick Hell yeah boy Yeah this is a lot of wall Not very pretty right now It's uh yeah Now that this base is a little messy but it's there Now I'm going to do pretty much the same thing with the trees Just go in with like a dark brown And then we can add highlights and shadows from there Can I reach? Yeah I can reach Oh gross Bloop No I'm gonna do a little bit more gray One tree down It sounds awful Honestly part of the reason I hate this part of the process My instant gratification gene It just looks like garbage I want it to look nice Immediately And it doesn't And you know what? So I think it looks okay so far A lot of the foliage I'm going to paint is going to cover up a ton of these Really stark lines and details here Plants that will be down here And then try to do some individual foliage sections up at the top Not really sure what I'm gonna do with the sides for now Might want to fill this out a little bit more Because now that I look at it like this it looks a little asymmetrical Not bad for a day of work I am just really tired so I'm gonna take a break I don't really know what to say when I'm doing like really intensive art videos Because I really get in the zone and I don't know what to talk about A lot of times I do like a Q&A but I feel like I just did one of those so That's it for today I'll see you bright and early in the morning Goodbye Good morning friends Ready to paint some leaves? Well too bad, I'm painting them I'm feeling a little less overwhelmed today Just because I do have the majority of the kind of base done And now it's just adding details It is very saturated Ooooooooweeee I'm hoping that when I go in and add some of the leaves I think I'm going to use like a little bit more desaturated colors I don't know how to describe it but it's just like very It's a lot I don't know, I'm excited I'm also a little overwhelmed But I think if I take it- If I take it section by sect- If I take it section by section I don't think it should be too bad I forgot how much I love just like zoning out and painting on walls And I needed it It's been like a weird couple mental health weeks Painting on walls is just very therapeutic And so I needed this Let's do some painting, friends Okay, oh well Let's paint some ferns So for the bottom here, I definitely had to go a bit more loose with the details Which my um replication oriented brain struggled a little bit with But otherwise I would be here probably for 20 years so A lot of freaking foliage in this painting Oops, this looks like garbage Kind of nice to like pretend that it's um spring And be surrounded by leaves even if they're just painted This past winter has been like the actual longest winter ever I think part of that is because we moved into this house when it was winter Or like the very tail end of fall We haven't gotten to see this house with actual leaves since we toured it Which was like September But things are starting to bud now and that makes me very very very very happy I have basically been that Snow White meme Except instead of package, I am pining for leaves No one is actually gonna see this Except for like you As long as I like it and I suppose as long as Nick likes it Then it's good As far as it looking a little little rough, that's okay It's fine, everything's fine Definitely would have been easier if I chose um an easier source image Shoulda, coulda, probably wouldna We're in the zhuzhing phase okay The zhuzhing! Let's go Now that I am part weeping angel I'm tired So I'm gonna call it done for now at least for this video You'll see it tomorrow So Ta-da! Oh it's done For now anyways Have some work to do with like the outlets and you know the entirety of the rest of the room Baby steps And I would say this is quite a large baby Do I look like I am in a Wes Anderson film yet?
