I will be changing the blanket again today. We change it every day because
as many of you all know it's a messy job having babies. Hi everyone, I just wanted to come on
and just give you a quick little update about how the puppies are going. I've had so many lovely
followers contact me and express their wishes that everything is going okay and that things
settle down soon. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that things have settled down now. The
last two days have been good days. We haven't lost any puppies the last two days. We're now down to
eight puppies. Harriet is being a brilliant mum. I'm just keeping my eyes on all the dogs as well
because we're down in the front paddock. I'll just turn around and show you them.
So Harriet's come down as well for a little break from the kids.
So she is now looking after all of Briar's puppies that are still with us. We have had a couple
pass unfortunately but unfortunately that is mother nature and even though we have done
everything that we possibly could, the puppies have been on antibiotics, they've been getting
extra vitamins and minerals, they have been on special puppy formula with special puppy
feeding bottles so that they don't get a too strong a flow. They've also been on special puppy
antibiotics, they've been on naturopath solutions to hopefully keep them well and strong and we've
also got a humidicrib and oxygen and honestly it has it has just really been an uphill battle
and you know sometimes it just goes that way. We've had some really beautiful litters and this
these two were beautiful litters as well but what I mean is we've had not too many complications
and these couple of litters it's just been one complication after another or several at the same
time which has been really stressful to deal with. I'm a super softy. I get quite anxious at times
and this has just been really devastating. One of my girlfriend's daughters actually said this is
soul destroying and I couldn't have put it better myself. It really is how I feel that it's been
soul destroying but onwards and upwards I do think maybe we're okay now that Harriet is looking after
all the puppies. It's been a hot day that's for sure. That's Scarlett and Ariel out in the middle
of the dam. There goes Hazel as well. Hazel is Ariel's mummy and that's Flora. She's Flora's
mummy as well. I love that our kids are all water babies, that they can have a nice cool off in the
So for now Harriet is looking after eight puppies. Three of them are her own puppies and five are
Briar's. Harriet has looked after eight puppies before. Her first litter was a litter of eight
so she can manage that quite well. That's not a problem for her. We are feeding her so much food,
as much food as she can possibly eat. We've got her on steak, we've got her on mince,
chicken. She's getting lots of treats. She's getting yogurt, she gets extra calcium for
her milk making because if you don't give them extra calcium then they can just take the calcium
out of their body, out of their bones and things like that. So she's being supplemented with
calcium in ice cream usually or yogurt. She's getting all sorts of wonderful food and treats
and she is loving it. She is loving having those puppies. She is such a good mummy. She
has always been a really good mummy. Every litter that she's had, this is her third litter and her
last litter. So yeah, no problems there. The only worry that we had was that maybe the puppies
wouldn't take to Harriet and that was a problem initially. The two smaller of Briar's puppies
that we put across to Harriet didn't want to go on the boob initially. They were gagging on the
boob and pulling away and not wanting it. So we did have to continue to bottle feed just little
bits, not to top them right up but to just keep them going and give them enough energy to keep
trying the boob again and it's worked. So they are able to get on the boob by themselves now.
When Harriet gets in the box they are up, awake and getting on which is just fantastic. It's
super fantastic news. It's exactly what we hoped for and so far we're happy that that's going well
and we hope that it continues to go well. So we do have a couple of smaller puppies that have
taken a bit longer to put on weight and thrive but they are fighters. They're strong little puppies
so yeah, we're really, really hopeful that it's all going to turn out well from here.
We're just keeping hopeful that the worst is behind us and yeah, as I said we really have
done everything possible and this is just sometimes how it goes. Breeding is not all
sunshine and rainbows. Corgis are not easy to breed but they're worth every moment of heartbreak
and every lost hour of sleep. They are worth it. They're fantastic dogs. We love our dogs to bits
and yeah, they're worth every moment and every little bit of hardship because they're fantastic
dogs and I love bringing these fantastic dogs to you. So yeah, we're looking up at the moment so
yeah, I just wanted to bring you that little update, let you know that it's not all doom
and gloom. We are at a more positive place now so yeah, we're hoping it'll continue that way.
Thank you for watching the video. I hope you've enjoyed it.
I'll see you all in the next one. I hope you all have a great week. Bye!
