Our New Baby Calf’s First Day on the Farm—It Will Be An Uphill Challenge

Well, that's because Pocket is the same species as they are So they're gonna act a little bit different when it comes to Pocket. You saw Moody, Mildred and Tater did not act any way to Pocket. Yeah, but they did to Matilda. They did to Matilda. Because it's their kind and Mildred's still over there mooing Yeah, yeah Mildred and Moody both. Tater could care a little less about her. Alright, so hopefully Dr. D will get in touch with us fairly soon so we can get moving forward on the next step with Matilda. Main thing is we like to give her some more feed, but you can overfeed Any animal especially when they're younger like that or even when they're older too, but we do not want her to get scours Which is basically a really bad upset stomach because that could lead to dehydration and we do not want that Whatsoever. So we're waiting on him on that and hopefully he can tell us When he can come actually physically check on her and give her a once-over and look at her leg and see what we need to do There. Also quick update on the donkey and emu situation. You guys remember that a few videos ago We went up to North Alabama to try to capture a donkey and an emu and get those guys rehomed And it didn't go well for us, but I had said in the last video I believe that there were some things going on behind the scenes with it It looks like that is going to go on to move forward and it looks as if a for real rescue is gonna get involved and Capture these guys and we hopefully can find them a great new home But as soon as I know any more information, we'll pass it on to you guys and let y'all know housekeeping Did your bed made up? I can promise y'all First thing we needed to know was what kind of feed to feed her What kind of feed to feed her and there's anything else we needed to do and was letting her have access to hay all the time okay, and he answered those and then he told us what he wants to do and as for you know injections, which is the vitamin shot and the injectable ivermectin and then He's gonna look at her leg and see what he wants to do with it But she is adjusted well on her very first day here on our farm I must say You know, she's doing quite better than any New big animal that we've had. She did and our animals did well. Yeah, they did. They really did Obviously she hadn't been in with the cows. So Right. I anticipate that to go just as well. I agree. We want her leg to be in a position where Yeah, she can hold her own the only thing I have worrying about the cows is feeding time But that may be a situation that we feed her separate from everybody Yeah, I think we can shut the three big ones up in that area.
