The agriculture sector in Mekong Delta has to be restructured in a way that
the practices have to be adapted to climate change.
As scientists, we thought we had to do something to support rice producers.
We used the AFS, AFS means Farmer Field School.
We take farmers to the field and to show them what we have done.
So we chose a different approach,
meaning taking them to the field to show them what works and what doesn't.
For farmers, saving a certain amount of water seems to be not of their interest.
They don't care about that.
What they care about is profit.
As long as farmers are exposed to technology and see and witness
how they can save a certain amount of water,
what works, they will start to uptake.
