In this documentary-style video, I set off on my first-ever mountaineering adventure to Lobuche East in Nepal. Yep, that’s right - my first summit attempt is gonna be a 6000+ meter peak in the Himalayas. Zero climbing experience, barely any training. It’s gonna be a crazy journey for sure.
In this first part, I cover the way from Kathmandu to Gokyo Ri (which is no easy feat either).
🛣️ What's in this video:
Kathmandu to Lukla – this trek starts with the legendary flight into Lukla (you know, the one that is considered one of the most dangerous in the world).
Into the Khumbu Region – the first stop is Namche Bazaar, where we take a rest day. We also do an acclimatization hike to the famous Everest View Point.
Onward to Gokyo – from Namche, we push on towards Gokyo, a quiet village surrounded by the stunning Gokyo Lakes. This is where the landscapes start to get out-of-this-world beautiful.
Summiting Gokyo Ri – we hike up to Gokyo Ri (5,357 meters) to help with the acclimatization process. It’s the first major milestone of the trip, summiting this viewpoint with insane panoramic views of the surrounding peaks (including Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu).
