Hello everyone, welcome to another video. In this video we're gonna show you everything we ate
in Hoi An. We are in Hoi An? Yes we are. Hope you're hungry.
You cannot come to Hoi An without visiting ancient towns so this is what we're gonna take you now.
We're gonna explore together, have a look, wander around, do a little bit of shopping as well,
maybe grab a bite to eat or coffee. Yeah let's go and explore Hoi An old town.
You want, Danny, you want orange juice with ice? Yeah I got it. Orange juice with ice, try that.
Hello. Orange juice with ice? Yeah orange juice. Orange juice please. Very very good orange juice
How much for one?
How much for one? 30,000 for one. Okay. More expensive than a beer.
Can I take video? Freshly squeezed right in a cup. Ah so it's not orange juice,
like it's more like squeezed. Thank you. Squeezed oranges there, a little bit of sugar
and water. It's like a very refreshing drink.
Good. Oh and limey. This is good. Very good.
There's lime in there as well? Yeah try that.
Oh oh yeah zingy. Yeah. Nice though. It's nice and refreshing. I love the limey drinks
when it's this hot. So good. So five minutes away from here there is a good Banh Mi spot,
that's where we're gonna take you now because we need some food. Yeah I'm still hungry, I need more
food. Oh that's so nice, come on. Oh my god, best service ever. Look at that, the guy covered our
motorbike seat. It gets very hot. Come on, thank you so much. So we are at a place called Phi Banh Mi,
that is not far from ancient town. This place was recommended to us by Gary, our friend,
food expert around the world it looks like, because his recommendations are always on point,
absolutely delicious, great, always trust him. So let's get a snack. Which one are you going for?
I might go for chicken, I'd like a chicken one yeah? Yeah.
Oh it looks like this place was open for ages, there's lots of family pictures on the wall.
So this lovely gentleman, he makes his own spicy sauce, which we're gonna definitely try, yes? Yeah,
he said it's not the same as any other place, so we'll see in a minute. Yes, I'm gonna go for
traditional Vietnamese please. I'll have chicken. Okay, cool. Hello, can we have one traditional
Vietnamese and I get chicken and egg. I'll get chicken and egg. Yeah, I can have chicken and egg
as well. And chilli is good. Yeah, and everywhere they make with the oven. Yeah,
and this oven help me when I'm busy. Oh yeah, slowly I make with the charcoal and then I keep
the warm room here. Oh, you keep them hot in here. Yeah, yeah, keep them warm because they are not
too eager for the rain, yeah, no rain if the rain comes. Ah, okay. Oh yeah, it's nice and warm.
All right, so you're still cooking in very traditional way, yes? Over charcoal, yeah,
very good. Oh, this is your special chilli sauce? Yeah. So this gentleman got special chilli sauce
here. I give you the one small bowl. Okay. And I put already in here. This is extra. Yeah,
you want extra because you love the spicy. Yes. Ah, come on. Come on, thank you very much.
Okay, nice to meet you. Nice to meet you. Oh yeah, extra chilli.
This is the traditional number one. Okay, come on. Super hot for a minute, I let it cool down.
Yes? It's very hot for a minute. So this place got certificate of excellence given by the trip
advisor. Right, I'm going for it. I'm gonna. You're gonna spill it everywhere. Yeah.
This is delicious. Absolutely delicious. I love fresh and pickled veggies inside.
Pate is so good and as always, super light bread filled with goodness.
I can't taste chilli yet. Oh yeah. That chilli sauce is absolutely delicious. The chilli very
good. So good. I'm just gonna load it and even put more on it. Absolutely delicious.
Yes, I've gone for chicken. So you see here you've got roasted chicken inside.
You've got pickled veggies, that chilli sauce,
Diggy's chucking more in and I got fried egg as well. I haven't had one with fried egg yet.
Let's do what Diggy did, just get rid of the end bit quickly. All right, let's give this a go.
Good, right? The chilli sauce is amazing.
But also with that egg, it reminds me of like a breakfast bat. This is perfect for breakfast
with the egg inside. You can taste a bit of chocolatey smokiness. Great to put it on that
grill. Oh, but I need more chilli. Yeah. Delicious. That chilli sauce is absolutely amazing. Chuck it
in. I think that's enough. It's not too spicy. It does have a little kick, but it's more sweet
Yum. Delicious. And people are so friendly here as well. Lovely gentlemen and
family-run business. Beautiful, beautiful spot, beautiful place.
Again, there's only a five minute drive from the centre of Old Town, say the centre by the river.
So if you're staying in Old Town, this could be like a five minute walk for you guys. Yeah.
More chilli, more chilli. This gentleman just said to us, he's been open for 13 years already
and he changed his chilli sauce recipe five times now. Until it's right. Yeah, until it's right.
And it's perfection. Perfection. That's a nice bit of heat and a bit sweet. But yeah, I can feel it
a little bit tingly. It's good. It's nice. Amazing. Right, shall we pay? Yeah, let's pay and see how
much it was. So that was 75,000. That's with the soda as well.
Come on. Highly recommend this place. Make sure you put it on the map. Thank you. Come on. Thank
you so much. We come back tomorrow. Okay. What time you open? Eight. Eight in the morning? Yeah.
Okay, we come back tomorrow. Eight to eight. Okay, easy to remember. Oh yeah, that's good.
See you tomorrow. Thank you so much. Come on. We need to take you for some traditional food
around here in Hoi An. Very famous noodle dish. So that's where we're going to go next.
You coming? Yeah. Let's go. So this place was on an island called Kimbong.
Just looking where we're going. Safe driving. Danny, what did you say about Hoi An
before? Basically, Hoi An is built on a delta. So basically, there's loads of little islands
you can explore around here, which are all within five, 10 minutes of Hoi An town or very close to
An Ban beach, where we're staying. Right here, isn't it?
Right, we have arrived. We have arrived, but I'm not sure if they open here.
Hello. There is definitely a party going on in the neighbor's house.
Are you open? Open? No, don't. Okay. Okay, video. Come on.
Video. Okay. Oh, maybe we can get something, Danny. Who is it? Where are we?
Where are we? Just very quickly, I want to answer one question we've been getting a lot lately.
What backpacks we use for travel? So this is Tomtoc Navigator T66 28 liter backpack.
And this is our go-to lately because it allows us to travel smart and light. I'm going to show
you how. So my favorite feature is that you have easy access from both sides. You can open it as
easy, same way as you would open a suitcase. TSA friendly and it has two laptop or tablet sleeves,
practical pockets, hidden pocket for passport and wallet, water bottle pocket on both sides,
padded bag for the comfort and adjustable straps. You can use it for travel days,
everyday commute or even weekends away. It looks minimal, but it packs a ton and it's designed to
meet carry-on requirements for most of the airlines. If 28 liter is not big enough, there is an option
for 40 liter backpack. Make sure to check out the link in description. We are in Kimbong village and
and it's culinary experience spot and they're making
Quang noodle. We're going to try now. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
Oh wow. Look, this is nice. Oh wow. It's burning. Yeah.
Oh, we want to eat that one dish. Yeah. So this lady here is just making some,
uh, I think maybe noodle, noodle. Yeah. Noodle. Yeah. The lady is making noodle now.
I think they're burning the rice here, right? For the fire. But what they're doing is basically,
this is like a steamed noodle. So when we have this Khao Lao, basically they make the noodle
like this and they slice it up and this goes into the Khao Lao. So I think this is basically
like a rice flour. And what they do is they put it on very thin and they make like a very thin
wrapper. And I think afterwards, what they do do is they fry some of them or some of the useful
noodle dishes. So they can actually slice this and make noodle dishes as well. But I think we're
going to try maybe get some of the crispy ones. I think. Oh, it smells so smoky. Wow. Oh, and then
I think actually, yeah, they're using the rice husk to burn, to actually feed the fire.
Yeah, it's rice husk. So when they actually de-husk the rice, they use this to make the
fire in below. So they're not wasting anything. They're cooking with the rice and using the husk
to actually fire the fire as well. All right. I know what's happening now. You can try making
the noodles here. Uh, basically that's what the ladies are doing now, but they do not have
soup at the moment. So I think we're just going to try some, uh, maybe those snacks over there.
Right. Yeah. I think they have like fried ones. Like deep fried, like, uh, basically like cakes,
crispy cake kind of style. With some sesame as well. Yeah. So that will be, um, interesting.
I think this lovely ladies want to show me how she's making noodle. The noodle? Yeah.
The noodle. Ah, yeah. Okay. Yeah. You see, this is like a cutting machine. This is how they cut
the noodles here with the rice. Ah, you can, me, I can do it. Okay. Uh, this way? Yeah. Yeah.
Ah, the other way, this way? Yeah. All right. Cooking, cooking lesson. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. I can try?
Okay. Come on. They're nice and bouncy, right? Very good. Yeah. Okay. Can we, can we buy? Yeah.
Okay. Uh, should we get the one like this or this? Get one with peanuts. Yeah. Okay. Which one do you
want, Danny? I think I'll get the ones with the peanuts, I think. This one's like black sesame seed
and also peanuts. I think this one is a sweeter one. It looks like it's got a sticky glaze on top
as well. So we'll take these two. Okay. To go with us. Yeah. Yeah. So we don't get noodles this time.
We're looking for the noodle dish this time, but we can't get it everything we want all the time,
but it's nice to see them cooking it. Yes. How are they making it? Yeah. Come on.
50. Okay. It's a party next door. Party. Party.
Oh, this is quite heavy. I'm going to try one now because you know me, I cannot wait.
Oh, I don't know how you, should I just bite it? Snuff. Snuff a bit off.
It's nice. This is so good.
This is amazing. Oh, Danny, you have to try this. This is like, it's like sticky.
Oh, this is sweet as well. Yeah. I think it's honey, sesame, peanuts,
peanuts are a little bit soft. This is delicious. Really, really good.
Let me try. Oh, it does actually. This one is sweet as well. Oh, it's actually quite like
chewy. Oh, I thought it was just going to be a solid crispy.
Very good. Very nice. I love peanuts anyway, but that sesame makes it like proper, like a
smoky, roasty, the black sesame. And it's like, yeah, spread with local honey, possibly. Crunchy,
chewy, sticky, and lovely. This is good. Thank you very much. Come on. Bye-bye.
What a lovely family. They literally just walked into the home. They went,
they went open because it's Sunday, but we just walked in. They started fire for us.
They wanted to show us how they're making noodles. They were very accommodating.
That food is delicious. Shame we cannot have a proper noodle dish, but
make sure you come and check this place out. It's very, very interesting. Yeah. Yeah. It's
very local. I love it. And these are really tasty. And the grandma making the noodles
was so cool. Try it yourself. Have a go. Yeah. So nice.
Enjoying the party? Yeah.
His singing might be better than mine actually, I think.
Just ringing out across the whole village.
Nice bit of echo.
What are you up to? Just trying to find somewhere to go for food, for noodles, because the other
place was closed. So we need to find a nice spot, but we just stopped and basically in the middle
of the rice fields, brand new road, lovely, nice little bench to sit down. And the view is stunning.
Mountains over there, straight in front of you. You've got the massive rice field with
beautiful green color. Danny's trying more food for you.
Just trying the other one that we just bought. This one is basically the rice paper. And again,
it's a sticky one, but white sesame, not black sesame. So the same, just different sesame.
Yum. It's nice. Super chewy. I love it.
Really good. Right. Found it. Same noodle. They were making there now, but it's a restaurant
which is actually open. We've got 10 minutes drive. It closes in 30 minutes. So hopefully
we can make it. I just need to quickly take a picture of this beautiful place. Let's go.
We came to the place called Beach Khao Lao.
Okay. Come on.
How? You just squeeze on top? Yeah. This one?
Lemon? Okay.
Okay. Spicy. I like.
Is it sweet and spicy or just spicy? Yeah. It's okay.
Lovely. Lady's just explaining what goes with what. And how to eat it.
When you come to these countries, the most difficult thing is knowing how to eat it properly
or what to put in. So she's done a great job on Diggy's Khao Lao here. And it looks amazing.
But quickly about Khao Lao, the thing is this is actually a regional dish from Hoi An. So when
you're here, you have to come and try it. The thing that's different are the noodles. The thing
is they're super bouncy, but what they do, they soak it in something called lye water. It's kind
of a more alkaline water and it makes it more bouncy and more chewy. So that's the main thing
about this Khao Lao is the noodles. So yeah. Go on. Try. Right. I'm super excited to try these
noodles. This is dish you have to try when you come to Hoi An. And the best thing about it is
that I've got some spice in it. Oh, this is very good.
Pork is nice and thin, sliced, not fatty.
Oh, Danny, I think this is pork skin. Oh, is it? They look like rice cracker.
I don't know. Or rice cracker? I don't know. I'm confused. I'm confused. I'm confused because it
tastes a little bit porky. Maybe it's cooked in pork fat. That's it. Maybe. All right. Let's try
these noodles. Danny said they're bouncy. They're a little bit different than normal noodles.
More chewy, I think. Not too bad. This is pretty good, actually. I like spice in it.
Oh, there's a little bit of broth, too. There is a little bit of broth, too, here.
I want to try that broth. Oh, super rich. A little bit sweet. That broth is delicious.
That is good. There's lots of like a kind of muggy flavor, but it's not very salty.
I like this. Oh, do you know what? This is very nice. You need to try Khao Lao when you come
to Hoi An, Hanoi. Keep mixing Hoi An and Hanoi. Sorry.
This is the dish you have to try when you come here.
So this is another dish here. We're going to try Mee Kuang noodles. So this is basically
rice noodles again. This is only, I think it's a mix of pork and chicken in this one.
We literally showed you this minute ago on how you make these noodles. Now we're going to try it.
Loads of veggies. We're dropping half of it. I can see here there's loads of peanuts in this
one, as well. I'm going to try before adding any chili and everything. So I want to get the
taste without it. So first thing, let's try these noodles. That's really nice. This is a little bit,
wouldn't they say it's sweet, actually? A little bit sweet. No spice. I think it needs spice to it,
but the flavor is really good. Sweet, peanutty, and yeah, it's not super, super rich.
Let me try some of the broth. Like Diggy said, with these noodle dishes, it's not like a soup
noodle. You only get a little bit of broth in the bottom. You can see. Look at the color. It's more
like yellowy, peanutty, satay kind of color. Oh, maybe slightly salty, slightly sour, maybe a little
bit. That's nice. Nice and refreshing. I like this. This is a really good dish again. Really good.
I'm loving this trip to Vietnam this time. We're trying so many more dishes.
So much new food, right? I haven't been shown how to eat it as well.
We're sitting right by the road with the river view as well. It's very nice.
The breeze is coming from the river on a very hot day. That's perfect. And you get lovely,
lovely noodle dish with a little bit of kick.
But I'll tell you the price in a minute. So I just tried Danny's noodles and we swore
because Mi Quang is right up my alley. It's so good. What are you laughing at?
Right up my street. Right up my alleyway as well.
I can't speak, sorry. Yeah, these noodles are delicious. I love rice, thick rice noodle.
It's very, very refreshing dish, noodle dish. Mi Quang is my favorite so far.
You like that Bale? I like the mint and the different herbs in here. It makes it so much
nicer. This one's much richer. The Cao Lau is slightly richer than the Mi Quang noodles.
So it needs a bit of freshness from the herbs. So it's not quite as rich. It's yummy.
Just got myself green tea. Try this when you come to Vietnam. This is delicious. It's like
oolong tea with lime and honey. Mi Quang noodles, highly recommend. You get that peanutty,
comforting flavor and a little bit sweet from the peanut. Refreshing, limey, delicious,
delicious noodles. And you can put your own chili in. It's grandmother, mother and I.
Three generations. Yes, maybe two. Yeah, so we've just been told this place has been opened.
It's run by the third generation and they've been open for 50 years. Wow, amazing. It's really good
food. Really good food. Make sure you put this place on your map. Thank you. Come on. Thank you
so much. Thank you. You can finish it. How much did you pay? Oh, sorry. That was 115,000. That's
for three drinks as well. It's a really good price as well. Very tasty. Right. Next stop,
we've stopped basically in the center of the beach, the most busiest part. What's the place
called? This place? Yeah. I can't say it. There will be a link in the description. Yeah, it's too
long to pronounce and I'll probably butcher it as well. But I've come for also this. This is called
Huda beer. And Huda means it was basically brewed in, do you say Hue or Hue? I don't know. One or
the other. And basically the DA basically stands for like Danish beer. So basically it's from Hue,
but it has brewed in the way that it brewed in Denmark. It's actually owned by Carlsberg.
So I want to try this one. Very good. I'd never tried this one. It's good. Never try, never know.
Never try, never know. I like that. After you can try that one also. Very good. 10 kilo. 10 kilo?
And you ask also, you say you go on the beach, you sharing with me
and you earn for 50% can message. I'm sorry for you, I get 50%.
Okay. Lovely, lovely.
That's Thai, same, same but different. Yeah, and same, same but better.
You're very lovely, lovely. Oh, thank you so much. Come on. You're a very nice,
very good seller. You're very friendly and happy. Yeah. We are in Vietnam. Yeah.
Oh la la, ******* nice. She opened your heart, you open with your wallet.
She, she took my wallet. She had my wallet. Yeah.
If you see this lady on the beach, make sure you come and buy something from her. Come on. Thank
you so much. When they come on the beach in Vietnam and they buy for Samsung. Yes,
that's what I just said. Go and buy stuff from Samsung, the best seller on the beach, right?
Yeah. Thank you. Samsung number one. Lovely, lovely.
Right. So we had the seller come up and it kind of disturbed my beer story,
but she said this is very good. So yeah. Let's give it a go. Did you finish the story?
Yeah, I think I did. Oh, that's nice. That's super refreshing. That's not hoppy at all. I like
this one. This might be one of my favorite beers. I like a beer Viet and this one. Yeah. Try it.
Honestly, beer Viet is my, one of my favorite beers ever.
I like that too. Nice and refreshing. Yeah. Yeah. You like Huda?
Beer Saigon and Huda. Right. Let's look at the food. Let's look at the food because we're being
chased here. I was sitting by the beach, right by the beach. It's nice breeze here. I couldn't
pick the seat for ages because I'm so hot. Right. So what are we going to have? I know what I'm
going to have. So I've made one choice already for a little snack. I don't have the full meal. We're
I want the grilled squid. Yeah. Okay. So having grilled squid. I'm going for the grilled scallops
with onions and peanuts. Okay. Yeah. And spring rolls. Yeah. But we're going to go for the spring
roll. Okay. Okay. Then three little snacks. Let's get it. Well, food has arrived, but I'm a little
bit disappointed because what I thought I'm going to get has not arrived and I'm not going to argue
with a man. And yeah, basically. All right. I wanted like a big... You pointed to something,
but basically it was the wrong one. So we got something. Something different. Still squid,
but yeah. But we've got Hoi An spring rolls, which they are a little bit different than normal spring
rolls. I think it's because they just wrapped in super thin flaky, uh, kind of, uh, wrapper.
I'm not too sure what it is. Something on top. I'm not sure what is it. Can you see that?
It's like something crispy on the top of the wrapper.
Good? Very good. Very good. Thank you. Come on. Let me try. Very good. Full of vegetables as well.
This is so good, Danny. Super crispy, thin, yummy.
Nice thing. It's like a shorty glassy stuff, like a glassy kind of very crispy
difference. So it's your normal fresh spring roll, but then it's deep fried, but you put
something crispy, like threaded. It looks like threaded on the top. I'm going to have some sauce
and eat it. Oh, yeah.
Very good. Come on.
Before coming to Vietnam, you will hear a lot of meat. Very good. Very good. This morning. Yes.
What did the guy tell you? That it's very good. It's cooked fresh here. You can see,
actually, the fishing boat is just right there. The spring rolls are out of this world.
They're really good. The Hoi An spring rolls, a little bit different.
This gives it more crunch. Yes. And Danny, they're very light, but Danny ordered his
favorite dish, which is basically scallops with butter, onions and peanuts.
Let me pick up a nice big one here. Yes, this is basically grilled scallop,
peanuts, a little bit of veggies. These are so good. It's the perfect little snack.
That is done like on a proper charcoal grill. You can taste the charcoal smoke in this.
That's so good. I've been waiting for these. So good.
Right. And I'm going to go for this squid. I don't know how to tackle it. Is it chopped?
Yuri Geller, you're bending spoons.
Right. So what I've ordered, squid. I don't know how to eat this because you can see the
freaking spoon bend it.
But it's proper grilled on the barbecue. We could smell it when it was cooking as well.
Oh yeah. I wonder if it's going to be chewy because it's hard to cut.
For me, it's quite, it has a strong fishy taste. Yeah. For me, I'm not a big fan of very,
very strong fishy flavors. So it's not for me. What do you think?
Well, I don't know. I usually like fishy fish and I just don't want to.
I don't usually when it smells super fishy, then that means it's not very fresh. Is that
I don't know. I tell you what,
where it's properly barbecued and grilled, that tastes good with those burnt bits.
That's good. I think what it is, is that they don't like gut these ones. They're like fully
the whole thing. That's probably why it tastes more fishy. Normally you used to like squid rings
when they chop them up for you already. I've never actually tried the whole, whole one. The small
ones I have, but not bigger ones. Maybe that's why it has a different taste. I think. In the
beginning, I was just a little bit confused because, um, it's not gutted. So I think I just
bit into it straight away and I had a little bit of stomach. A little bit more fishy, fishy flavor.
So total price of the beer was 570,000. It's actually not too bad. Two small beers. We
thought we're going to get a big beer, but there's lots of seafood places here. So
I think we're going to try in another video, another one as well. Yeah, we're going to compare
This is actually where our food came from. So when I say it's fresh, it's from here.
It's really kept really nice and clean. So where's my squid go? I can't see my squid.
So this place was recommended to us by our friend Gary, which he always has the best
recommendations for food. We can smell the pork already. Uncle is sitting here barbecuing huge
portions of meat in a basket on the barbecue ready to be served. I cannot wait. This is our breakfast
and it looks really, really good. This is a good breakfast. You can see already that
we have a bowl full of marinade. This marinade contains a lot of lemongrass
and it's slightly sweet as well. Yeah. It smells so good. All right, come on.
This looks good. Okay, come on. So we're going to get a lesson again, how to prepare your food,
I think. Okay. So I think we did this completely wrong before. So you get the dry sticky rice
paper and put it on the sticky side and you put it on the sheet.
Oh, there you go. Oh, okay. And then you put the stick, you wrap it up. And the thing is,
it's not sticky now because you got the dry rice paper on the outside and then pull it up.
Wow. Yeah, she's made one for you already. I think he's already got one ready. She's made
by the professional. I'll do one in a minute. There is some peanuts. So we've got peanut sauce
here and lady check some chili in it as well. This looks really rich.
Sorry. This is delicious. You're going to love this.
Good. This is so good. We had one before in Hoi An Old Town in the center and it was terrible.
But we didn't have a clue how to make it. We had all this stuff put beside us,
but we were just pulling the sticky rice paper off and just eating it and wrapping it. But
the way you've seen it doing now, it's going to be good. Let me try and make one.
Right. I have my lesson. Let's see if I can do it as well as you did. I'm not too sure.
So get the dry one and then you place it on the sticky ones and you push it down a little bit
and you should. Yeah, this side. Ah, there you go. And the sticky ones in the middle
and you get your salad. Put your salad in there and your herbs. There's some herbs in the bottom
actually. Mint. I definitely want some mint in there. And then you get your stick.
You see, it's already open at the top. So what you do is just stick it on.
Ah, I think you wrap it first. Yeah, wrap it first. So push it together, wrap it up
and then you grab and you should make this. Oh yeah. Easy. Try it. Mine's a bit fatter than
his. Well, mine was made by the professional. I'm semi-professional.
Good. Look at that. Look at that meat. It's all charcoal, little grilled bits on the end. This
is delicious. The thing is, the meat is very thin, so it's cooked very hot and very quickly.
So it chars, but stays super soft in the middle. And that is so delicious with the mixed herbs
and the satay peanut sauce. What makes it really nice is actually the thick noodle,
the noodle inside. It gives a bit of chew. It's really good. I love this.
One of my favorite dishes, actually. I really like this one. Thank you, Gary.
You made it well? This is a delicious spot for food. Make sure you come here.
Like a perfect breakfast food. The thing is, I love the way that you have to make your food as
well. So you don't just smash it down and eat it. You have to take your time and make it.
And yeah, it's delicious. Absolutely delicious. Amazing.
People are very happy to see us here as well. Ladies coming out of the kitchen, they're smiling.
They're happy to see us. It's a very local place. Not many foreigners come here, I think. I'm not
seeing anyone. But I'm not sure why, because this is like in the middle of Korea. It's really close
to the old town. It's very close. If you're looking to come here, this place is open from
10.30am to 7pm. So it's open all day. And they've got thousands of sticks. You see the guy outside,
there's thousands of sticks he's got down there. He's constantly cooking. He must be doing it all
day. And tea. Yeah, and tea.
So each of the barbecue sticks for one portion of five is 60,000 for each one. So we had two.
So that was 120,000 for the food. Really good price.
Lovely, very friendly people, lovely family.
And delicious food. What more do you ask for? I'll buy a tomato bag.
This one is not very good. It's like proper smashed up, but oh well.
It's massive queue already.
I am struggling at the moment with the heat. It's really, really humid. It's not even that hot,
but humidity is really high. I can't wait for my bunny.
There was nobody there when we turned up. Let's go over there by the bike.
Where's our bike? No, let's go there.
Freaking hell, man. Let's go in the bike parking lot.
Got the goods. Got the goods. I've been waiting for this one. Let me have a sniff.
Oh, I can smell the pork already. Grilled barbecue pork. Oh no, this was not barbecue.
It's normal grilled pork. Do you want to sit here or over there?
Oh, that looks nice. All right, try it. Taste test. This looks so good.
Crunchy bread, loads of fresh veggies, pickled veggies. And this is yeah, barbecue pork.
Let's go. The pork in here is like belly pork. It has a bit of fat in it, which is really nice.
And you have this pate in here. The pate is really, really good. Gives it a nice rich flavor.
But also, this one has a nice little chili kick. Not too hot, but a lovely chili kick.
But so refreshing as well at the same time. I think you have to try this. It's delicious.
And also the herbs inside. So delicious. Gives it so much flavor. That's so good.
I see what the hype is now. I might have to get another one for the road.
God, it's so bright. I'm literally squinting. Can't stop squinting. Okay, let's go for it.
Oh, this is good. Look how much stuff is inside and the pate as well.
That pate is delicious. Although, I've never seen tomato in a banh mi before.
Maybe they just like, you know, jazzed it up a little bit for the tourists.
This is so good. This is our favorite breakfast and beer snack when in Vietnam.
I really like fresh onions with it as well. It doesn't have pickles in it, does it? This one.
Is it pickled? Does it have pickled veggies? It's all fresh. No, it's all fresh. But it's nice. I
never had one like that. I always had like a pickled veggies in it. But this one has loads
of pate. This is delicious. Right Danny, you can... See ya. Only joking, we got one more.
But yeah, is it worth the hype and coming here? Yeah, I'd come and get one. But what I've seen
and read online is after maybe 10, 11 or maybe after 11 it starts getting busy. And especially
like in the evenings from like 9 onwards after people had a few beers, it gets super busy here.
So for me, come here early for breakfast, maybe 9am. You have no queues. You can sit on the street
outside and enjoy on the street. Yeah. How much? So each one was 35,000 each. Obviously, there's
different prices for different ones, but it's ranging from 25,000 up to 40,000. So,
oh, really good price. Perfect breakfast like Diggy said. I love it. I can have one of these
on the road as well. It's like a perfect snack when you're on the road. Stick it in your bike.
You can have it whenever you want it. Can I have some? No. Did you see the sausages in there?
Yeah. They look like Polish sausages. They slice them like the Polish sausages.
Yeah. They had like a big kielbasa. Okay. Important question. Is this better than your
favorite banh mi you ever had in Hanoi with grilled chicken? No. I'm someone who likes the
basic stuff. The one we had there, you can go check the video out. It's grilled on the street,
all fresh meat. Yeah. And it's basically very simple. Just pickled veggies, hot sauce,
and just grilled meat. And Tony Bourdain should have gone to that one as well. Yeah. He should
check that one out. He should have checked that one. That was good. I'm not getting much
of it though. It's quite a lot. Mine's like Mew Klop from Thailand, but not crispy.
You see? The slices are like Mew Klop.
So this is the original one, but because it got so busy, there was actually a second branch,
a three minute walk away. So this is super busy. Maybe go check out the second branch.
Same ingredients, same bread, same place, but probably less busy than this one. And it's
closer to the center of Old Town. Top tip. We just arrived in a restaurant called Baby Mustard.
We've seen very good reviews, so we decided to try it. There's some delicious food on the menu,
so let's go and check it out. Let's go. I'm starving. This place is also a cooking class,
and I think cooking class is going on now. This place, they grow their own vegetables for salads
and everything. There's Danny over there checking out the garden,
but we made our order. We're ready to eat. Food has arrived. Let's go.
We put this inside here? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, together. I'll help you. Oh, okay.
I'm going to help you. You're going to help? Yes. Let's try.
All right, so we need instructions for our food. It looks a little bit complicated. Danny's going
to show you how to do it. I'm not going to show you. You guys are going to show me.
We're going to help. Basically, you can see this dry rice paper. Dip it.
Okay, and then salad inside. Okay.
Oh, and then roll this way? Roll from this side?
Oh, wow. Oh, wow. That looks good. Come on. Thank you very much.
It's a mix between a fresh spring roll and a fried one as well. Check it out. I never knew
I'd do this. Unless someone actually tells me, you get all this stuff on the table,
unless you research it, I just pick it up and eat it like a normal pancake. How cool is that?
Try it. Dip it in the sauce. Is it good? Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Again, you've got a mix of the fried crunchiness, the nice soft meat inside.
Basically, the veggies make it so fresh as well. Oh, that's delicious.
You've got mint there too. That is delicious. Dig in. You've got to try this. This is so good.
I'm just going to show you how you have to do it with the rice paper. It's basically
half of the dish is rice paper here, and then it's a water. So just, yeah?
Put it on your plate. Get it nice and round. Yeah.
This is so cool. This looks literally delicious. Oh, how red I am. It's hot. I'm matching my top.
Right. Let's go for it.
This is delicious. What flavour is that sauce? Wow. Tastes like ginger lemon dipping sauce.
Oh, so good. I cannot believe we never had this dish before. We've been four times in Vietnam.
And first time we're eating this. We wasted so much time, Danny.
So we have ordered another dish, which is grilled chicken with lemongrass.
Oh, wow. That looks amazing. It has just arrived.
Oh, smells delicious. I've never seen it like this. So this is like cooked on a leaf as well.
I don't know if this is a banana leaf, maybe. Smells delicious. And another fresh salad as well.
I'm burning it. I'm taking off all the leaves. Yeah, just burn it.
Let's try this. It looks delicious. Smells delicious.
That is good. Oh, strong lemongrass, slightly sweet. It's slightly like satay, peanut flavour
as well. That is so good. I could eat two plates of this. Vicky, you sure you want some?
Well, don't forget you are sharing. All right, let's go. Oh, yeah.
So much lemongrass, right? That is so good. Vietnamese food is definitely,
definitely growing on us. We're trying so many new dishes we've never tried before
in Hoi An. It's actually nice and refreshing. Break from our usual food, different flavours,
different textures. Absolutely loving it. There is loads of lemongrass on top, even like, you see?
You see that? That's lemongrass, isn't it? And onion shallots. And onion shallots.
This is really, really nice marinade. Right, so we're just going to finish that. We need a coffee
and then we're going to take you for another spot for another delicious food in Hoi An.
There you go. I like the salad you get with it as well. And again, loads of fresh herbs.
It was very nice. Thank you. Right, Danny, what was the price? That was $239,000.
Okay. But also on An Bang Beach, there's multiple kinds of seafood restaurants,
and they're all fresh. They have the glass cabinets. You can look at all the seafood
by per kilo. There's one place we can recommend and it's called
Thuy Et. We'll put the link in the description below. But amazing food there, good portion sizes
and good value for money for seafood. We really like this place. So check this one out when you're
here on An Bang Beach. Also, we would love to say a big thank you to our channel members.
