And now the 22 News Storm Team forecast.
>> And time now is 4:46. We're taking a
live look out in Westfield for now. You
can definitely see it's windy. Seeing
the trees move around and also the flag
blowing right out of the north and
northeast. We are going to continue that
wind out of the north through much of
the day. Greenfield, you can see the
rain is falling. A lot of rain droplets
here on the camera lens. So here's the
wind. And this is going to be something
that stays with us not just for today,
but over the next few days. It is going
to be quite breezy. Right now it's out
of the north and east. 16 miles per hour
in Westfield and Springfield. Occasional
wind gusts out there could be up around
30 miles per hour for today.
Temperatures up and down the valley. 40s
and 50s. We're 54 in Springfield, 48 in
Northampton, 47 is the temperature there
in orange. And as we go throughout the
rest of the day, these temperatures
don't really move by much. We'll be
holding on to the 50s through the
morning and into the afternoon. Many of
us top out right around the mid-50s. And
again, that just about does it. And with
the wind, I would dress for maybe the
lower 50s for today. So, showers, windy,
temperatures in the 50s. That is the top
of 20 Storm Team forecast focus. Heading
into the day tomorrow, we're going to
continue with some lingering showers as
the system pulls away. It's not going to
be a wash out by any means tomorrow. It
honestly will be probably more on the
dry side of things, but there's still
could be some spotty showers through the
day on Tuesday, and then we stay in the
50s and 60s all week long. Looking ahead
to temperatures, we'll be mostly in the
60s and 50s. 60 tomorrow, 62 Wednesday,
56 for the high temperature on Thursday.
So, right now, you can see the rain is
falling out there for many of us, pretty
much almost everyone. But it varies in
intensity where you see the darker
greens and even some yellows and
oranges. That's indicating the heavier
rain. And then you see some of this
lighter green coming up through
Connecticut. That's some of the very
light, more mist and drizzle. So, as we
go throughout the rest of the day,
overall, the nature of the rain will be
more on the lighter side, but here and
there, there could be a quick downpour.
You can see the rain continues as we go
throughout the day. And then heading
into the uh afternoon, we're going to
continue that breeze as well. So, here's
winds out of the north, 28 mph
Northampton, 25 mph there in
Springfield. Occasional wind gust could
be upwards around 30 mph, maybe a little
bit more back in the Birkshars. Can't
rule out the some of the higher terrain
here. gusting upwards of 40 miles per
hour there around North Adams. Here we
are 3 p.m. around 20 25 miles per hour
in the valley around 25 to 35 back in
the Birkers and then we do stay with
that wind all the way into the evening
and into the overnight. So for today on
andoff showers, breezy temperatures in
the 50s, 54 to 58. We are going to fall
back into the uh 40s and low 50s for
tonight. Scattered showers will continue
for the rest of the Twin Storm Team
7-day forecast tomorrow. scattered
showers, temperature right around 60°
and then we actually do dry things up,
but we remain breezy for Wednesday and
Thursday with temperatures mostly in the
50s and 60s. Overnight low temperatures
fall to the 30s by the end of the week.
