🇧🇷 BRA vs. 🇯🇵 JPN - Highlights Quarter Finals| Women's World Championship 2022

It's Brazil serving, Japan receiving for this quarterfinal match of the FIVB Women's Volleyball World Championship here in the Netherlands, being co-hosted in Poland as well. And that one is out. Ishiura was looking on the line. Yeah he's standing right there. Shimomura with the serve. Oh what a dig by Ishikawa. That looked to have been done and dusted in Brazil's point. It is now but they had to work for it. Again that's a really good side out under the circumstances. What a set from Makris. So reliable, she's always running. Six chances for Japan to take this set from siding out and it's the best ball impossible. It's a free swing and it is Japan who take the set. 25-18. They lead one set. They lost a set only to or Brazil lost a set to Japan. Massive. Tanara with a free one. Ball's coming quickly off service as well. Oh that's nice. What a great swing that is from Gabby. Good ball in. Oh that's off the feet is it or did she get her hands on it? Either way well Mike's in the replay and now Carol gets her first block. I guess as well you said it, you said it. The frustration is there I think because they can go over the top of Japan but they've got to hit smartly. Of course when they do that they're getting dug again. And then Japan will try and find solutions but this is a really good opportunity now for Brazil. Although Gabby can't find a way through. Interference there because Gabby's right in the net in the way of where the block is. Great closing of the block. Japan's point and it's now a set point. Oh would you believe it. It's a massive block. Yamada puts it down. Japan take the set. 25-18. Just a incredibly good performance from Japan right now. They've done their homework. They've been serving well. They've reduced Brazil to side outs. Got the frustration running high amongst the team for Brazil. Gabby reaching a little too high but he's still too far away from Ishikawa. Miyabi to serve. Good up but it just invites Brazil to come again. Gabby can't have a swing. Is there a swing chance? Oh no not really. Brazil are bossing it right now. Hayashi and now Gabby. Oh well they got the continuation block but that is a monster block. Koga to serve. Better played somehow. Seki kept it off the floor. That was kept off the floor. Oh goodness. Oh and that is a little bit of a scramble for Brazil. What a dig by Koga. Oh she went the wrong way. Goodness me. Free ball back for Brazil. Carol wants a piece of it. Gets a piece of it but they have to go again. Goes the other side. You can't go to Fukudomi. She always digs it. Oh what a touch. This is ridiculous. Second ball over. What's going on? What am I seeing? That's it. Now it's Carol to serve. Two points required. And Brazil are way back in it and they could have a swing chance. They have a swing chance. However Shimomura says no, not this time. Has to go wide. Great pick up Miyabi. Good save by Rosa Maria. Well that's classic. You have a team under pressure. Slapping it. Oh looky cookie down the line that one. For the set. And they do it. Carol Gattas puts it away. Big celebrations from Brazil. 25-22. They're back in the match. Another short ball. Just trying to make it difficult. Now that's such a good play. They've touched the ball in the block. There's a swing chance. What a play. Is that landed in? It looks in. It is in. Shimomura. There's no stopping Gabi. And Airy's come on. Checking where she's in the rotation. A little bit of height at the net. But of course it goes to Gabi. Goes completely the other side. They're not going to go to the arena. This will be one of the biggest serves of Gabi's tournament. That's a great ball in. And it does go down. It is 24 all. Yamada's had such a good game. Carol comes good through the middle. And it's set point number two for Brazil. Oh there's trouble. There's a swing for the set. Oh I say what a block from Yamada. To deny Gabi and deny Brazil. Quality from Gabi. And a brilliant finish from Carol Gattas. They've done it. The set. 27-25. And that means we are going to five here in Apeldoorn. As she serves again. Oh goodness me. Carol. Oh what a pick up by Rosa Maria. Good up by Inoue. That must have caught the block. Oh goodness. Is it in? No it isn't. Massive hit from Rosa Maria. This could be 9-6. Oh Fukudomi makes a brilliant touch. Brazil still though on the attack. Fukudomi again. Magnificent. Inoue keeps it in. That is a swing chance here of sorts. Good work by Rosa Maria. Getting out wide. And Ishikawa. Magnificent. Just I've run out of superlatives for this game. I've just, I've got nothing left. Off the hands and away. Just when she needs to and Brazil need her most. In Apeldoorn. Good cover by Fukudomi. Inoue once again. There's a swing chance for the match. Rosa Maria. Is that off the hands? Oh no it isn't. Oh you're kidding. What a dig by Hayashi. Brazil come again. Lorena. Is a monster block from Japan. Gabby. Incredible dig. Lorena. Fukudomi makes it. Oh and it's all over. Ishikawa couldn't find the angle she wanted. Brazil have the victory. They've beaten Japan. 15-13. Three sets to two in one of the most incredible games to grace this tournament.
