Buttermere, The Lake District

Kayaking in one of our favourite places in the UK, Buttermere is just stunning. You can purchase a boating license for £5 from a nearby car park and it's worth every penny.

We were lucky enough to be here on a day with hardly any wind and at times, the lake appeared as a complete mirror. It is one of the most northern lakes in Cumbria, close to the town of Cockermouth.

Tom Cruise was filming here a few weeks prior to our visit for his latest Mission Impossible movie.
