Lake Pier Beach & Hamworthy in Poole, Dorset
Poole is a coastal town in Dorset, southern England, known for its large natural harbour and sandy beaches. I had a chance to visit one of my friends at Poole while we briefly visited Lake Pier beach and Hamworthy and took the opportunity to put my drone up. Lake Pier is an inner harbour sand and shingle beach. Nearby you'll find Ham Common Nature Reserve and a Special Site of Scientific Interest. Lake Pier Beach is located on the Northern shore of Poole harbour, in Hamworthy. The beach is a mix of sand and shingle – perfect for walking and admiring the views. An old wooden pier jutting out into the harbour was once a landing point for clay for local potters. It has become increasingly popular amongst anglers, families crab fishing and landscape photographers in recent years. Hamworthy Park Located on the northern shore of Poole Harbour, Hamworthy Park beach offers an oasis of peace and tranquillity from the busy town centre. It has outstanding panoramic views over the middle and upper reaches of the harbour towards the Purbeck Hills.
