Lioness carries her tiny lion cub, Maasai Mara, Kenya

On safari with our guide Salaash Morompi in September 2021 we encountered a lioness walking while being followed by her tiny cub. After walking a while, the lioness picked up the tired cub to help it cover more distance. The noises you can hear in the background are the alarm snorts of the Thomson’s gazelles as they very alertly watched the lion. This Topi pride cub was a little over a month old.
