You have probably been through some things that could have left you absolutely broken.
Seasons that almost took you out. And if people only knew what you've survived,
they'd see what I see. That you don't have to look like what you've been through.
We all know life can be hard. Some people say it like this,
life is like a rollercoaster ride. There's ups and downs and we scream a lot along the way.
You know those moments that shake you to your core. Man, they've happened to all of us.
But just because the ride is rough, this is good news, doesn't mean your story is over.
And this is what I love so much about God. He never leaves us stuck. He always provides this
way forward out of the pain, out of the patterns, and out of those places that we thought would
always define our lives. Even when we can't see it, He's already making a way.
I don't know what you're going through right now. Maybe you're walking through heartbreak.
Maybe you're facing betrayal. Or maybe you're in a season that is draining you emotionally,
physically, and spiritually. Whatever your story is, it doesn't have to define you.
And God's not going to just help you survive it. He's going to heal what's broken. He's going to
restore what's been lost. And He's going to make you whole again. Jeremiah 30 verse 17 says,
God says, I will restore you to health and heal your wounds. And that's not just wishful thinking.
That's a promise from God. Today, I want to share three truths about healing that I believe will
breathe fresh hope into your heart and help you move forward during a difficult season or even
after a difficult season. Truth number one is this. Healing doesn't erase your story, but it
changes how it ends. I love this. See, we all have things in our life that we didn't choose.
We didn't choose the heartbreak. We didn't choose the loss. We didn't choose the betrayal.
But we do get to choose how we move forward. Do you know if pain is left unattended, it's going
to seep into everything. How you talk, how you treat people, and even how you see yourself.
And the truth is, time doesn't automatically heal our wounds. If anything, time can deepen those
if they're never brought to God. But when you invite God into your story, something changes in
your life. Now, healing doesn't erase the past, but it does change how your story ends. Psalm 147
3 says, he heals the brokenhearted and he binds up their wounds. I knew a woman who lost her
husband suddenly. She told me for months she thought she'd never smile again. She didn't think
she was going to make it out of that grief, and I can only imagine. It was written all over her
face, she said. It was written in her posture and her outlook on life. She said this, over time,
God began to mend her heart. She started laughing with her kids again, and she started noticing
little joys, like the beauty of a sunrise. She told me, I miss him every day, but I'm not stuck
in the grief anymore. God gave me strength I didn't know I had. See, that's what healing does.
It doesn't deny what happened. It doesn't pretend the pain wasn't real, but it changes the way
the story ends, from bitterness to peace, from survival to strength, and oftentimes from sorrow
to joy. Here's a good question to ask yourself today. Where in your life do you need to invite
God to change the ending? Maybe you're going through grief right now, just like the lady that
I met. Maybe you're going through just a difficult season that you feel is draining you, like I said,
physically, emotionally, and mentally right now. Invite God into that area. Truth number two, what
you've been through is part of your story, but it's not your identity. Now, I love this one too. I love
all these points. See, what happened to you may shape you, but it doesn't have to define you.
You are not the heartbreak. You are not the mistake. You are not the label somebody else
tried to put on you, because people will try to label you. See, life has a way of stamping us with
names that were never meant for us. We may feel like we're broken, and we have this stamp that
says broken, or unworthy, or how about this one, not enough. See, God doesn't label you by your past or
what you've been through. He calls you by your name. I heard someone say it like this, the enemy knows
your name, but calls you by your sin, but God knew your sin, and He calls you by your name. See, that's
just how good God is. God is a loving God, and He cares about you, and He cares about what's going on
in your heart right now. Isaiah 43 1 says, don't be afraid, for I have redeemed you. I have called
you by name. You are mine. See, this means right here, you're not invisible. You're not overlooked.
You're not forgotten. You are God's. You are fully seen. You are fully known, and guess what, you are
deeply loved. You know, I've watched people go through unthinkable pain, some people that are
close to me, and if you didn't know their backstory, you'd never guess what they've survived in life.
Why? Because they refuse to let the pain define who they were and who they are, and instead of
carrying bitterness, they carry joy. Instead of living in defeat, they live in grace. That didn't
happen overnight, but through the grace of God, that's how they live their lives today, and when
you believe God's Word over your life, you stop living under those false labels. Instead of not
enough, you begin to walk in, I'm redeemed. Instead of I'm forgotten, you choose to walk in, I'm chosen.
Instead of walking around like you're defeated, you live as someone who is strong in the Lord and
the power of His might. It's like putting on a name tag. Remember those name tags you used to wear?
You don't pretend the pain never happened, but you stop letting the pain introduce yourself any longer.
Here's a good question to ask yourself. What false label do I need to lay down so I can step fully
into who God says I am? I want you to put that label down and start declaring over your life,
God is healing me. God is healing my brokenness right now. Truth number three. This is good, y'all.
God doesn't just heal you. He helps you rewrite the story. Now, here's the thing. Just because
that's how it was doesn't mean that's how it has to stay. You know, for some people, and maybe this
is true for you, chaos was normal for you growing up. Anger was normal. Fear was normal, and without
realizing it, you carry that or those things into adulthood. You respond the way that you were taught.
That's just natural. You think, this is just who I am. This is just the way that it has to be.
But healing with God doesn't just patch up your wound. It restores your soul, and it rewrites
the script for your future. Psalm 23 3 says, he restores my soul. I can think about a friend of
mine who grew up in a house filled with shouting and anger, and I remember him telling me that he
didn't even know what it looked like to live with peace. Yelling was normal, and when he had kids of
his own, he made the decision. He decided, you know what? I'm not going to live that way anymore.
The cycle stops with me. Now his children are growing up in a home filled with stability and
love. Y'all, that's what healing does. It doesn't just change you. It changes everyone who comes
after you. Now, maybe your parents didn't know how to model peace. Maybe you were handed patterns
of fear and insecurity. Listen, this is the great news. You don't have to repeat the past. You can
be the one who breaks that cycle. I want to encourage you today to heal so your children
and your family and your friends get the healed version of you and not the broken version of you.
Heal so that story that maybe began in pain ends in hope. Now, here's a great place to ask yourself
this question. What cycle has been running in my family that I know I need to break so that my
story ends a different way? What thing can I break so I can say it ran in the family until it ran
into me? Get serious about that, and don't run with that cycle any longer. Today's the day you
can break that cycle. Now, you know I believe in the power of speaking God's Word out loud. I believe
it can change the atmosphere. I believe that the words we speak become the house that we live in,
so it's important what we're saying out loud. So right now, wherever you are, why don't you just
repeat this after me? We're going to declare God's Word together. I am healed and whole in Christ.
I am not my past. I am loved, chosen, and seen by God. My story is still being written, and it ends
in hope. Oh, that's good, y'all. Let me pray over you. God, I thank you that you are the healer of
our hearts, and you're the restorer of hope. For every person listening and watching right now,
and they feel weighed down by what they're walking through right in this season of life, I ask that
you lift that burden today. Remind them they are not forgotten. They are not stuck. Their story is
not over. I pray that you breathe fresh peace into their lives. Replace that sorrow with joy,
and let their next chapter be marked by healing, wholeness, and hope. In Jesus' name, amen.
If this encouraged you, let me know in the comments below which truth spoke to you most,
and I'm going to link another episode right here that I believe will build your faith and remind
you of the future that God has for your life. Until next time, have an amazing day.
