Hey guys, welcome to a new video.
So we're still in the beautiful city of Hanoi and today we're going to keep exploring this
part of Vietnam and see what else it has to offer.
Let's go.
It's a place you will never forget, trust me.
Oh, it looks so good.
That's so good.
I feel like I'm not even in Vietnam anymore.
What the heck, where are we?
This is apparently going to be the new big thing here in Hanoi.
Guys, we're actually having such a good time here.
Okay, why isn't anyone talking about this?
This is so cool.
That's so sick.
This place is surreal.
So we're starting our morning off with coffee, obviously.
Here in Vietnam, coffee is just so good.
So every day we like to try new cafes.
The cafe that we're trying out today is called Giao Mua and it's this really unique building.
It kind of reminds us of The Hobbit.
In Vietnam, the cafes are actually insane.
They have some really unique cafes.
This is so sick.
It's kind of like a treehouse.
John and I get so excited to wake up in the morning and go to a cafe.
Yeah, we didn't film all of the cafes that we've been to so far, but we've been to quite a bit already.
We've been going to cafes like every day.
There was one day that we took a day off and we did some cafe hopping.
They have a Harry Potter cafe here and there was a cafe that we ended up really liking.
We just didn't film it.
Hidden Gem Cafe.
Yeah, the Hidden Gem Cafe. That was really nice.
And their Banh Mi was good.
So I got the Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk.
Ooh, mine's strong, but it's perfectly blended.
Ah, how's yours?
Mine is so creamy, it's so good.
So for lunch, we decided to treat ourselves to a highly rated restaurant here in Hanoi called Mamon.
This restaurant is very well known for their signature dishes from the north, south, and central region of Vietnam.
So our first dish is here, the banana blossom chicken salad.
It looks so good, let's give it a try.
And apparently we're supposed to eat it with these chips right here.
They're kind of like fish chips.
Apparently it's a great combination.
And we also got our drink.
So my drink is the lychee calamansi soda because I love calamansi soda.
But I've never had a combination of calamansi and lychee together, so that looked interesting.
Yours looks amazing.
Yeah, I got the avocado smoothie.
Okay, let's give this chicken blossom salad a try.
Oh yeah, tangy, sweet and sour, and spicy.
Spice is bearable though.
Wow.
It's really good.
That's so good.
And it's just appetizing.
Our next dish is here.
This is a braised pork belly with caramel sauce.
Apparently this is the signature dish of the north.
Oh wow, so tender.
Wow.
That's good.
The next dish is stir-fried crab with glass noodles, and this is a signature dish from the south.
Yeah, and our server also told us that since we have both the signature dishes from the north and the south, we can taste the difference.
The south will be a lot sweeter than the north because in the south, they like to eat a lot of sweeter dishes.
So since it's crab, they give you gloves.
I want to take the basket home.
Oh, it looks so good.
Oh, you can already smell the spice.
How's that?
That's so good.
Look at that.
Whoa, that's good.
I've never had crab where it's actually like sweet.
Yeah, it's a tad bit sweeter than what I'm used to when I eat crab.
Because usually when you eat crab, it's just like boiled.
This one has lots of flavor to it.
I like it.
Yeah.
It's good.
Alright guys, so after lunch now, and we decided to come back here at the old quarter, specifically here at Pung Hung Street, which is also called Mural Street.
As you can see, there's a bunch of murals.
And it's also very long.
Like this whole wall is covered in beautiful art.
Apparently, these murals represent the daily life of people in Hanoi and also their culture.
Guys, if you're ever heading to Hanoi, we highly recommend staying at the old quarter.
It's a place you will never forget.
Trust me.
It feels like we were transported back in time.
It's so vibrant, energetic.
The hustle and bustle of the city is crazy and we love it.
And the architecture also.
Yeah.
Beautiful architecture.
Alright, so Ann's actually tearing up right now because we passed by a vendor.
And she was selling meat.
And we didn't know what kind of meat it was, but she did have a sign.
And I translated it and it said dog meat.
And I searched it.
Apparently, in Vietnam, they do eat dogs.
Yeah, sorry.
Ann's just a bit emotional.
She's crying right now.
Because, you know, we love dogs.
We have our own dog back home.
And just to see that, I don't even know what to say, man.
So we're ending our night here at Mega World.
And we drove about 40 minutes out of Old Quarter and into this very modern luxury neighborhood.
I feel like I'm not even in Vietnam anymore.
Yeah, so a pretty cool area.
Especially since we were just in Old Quarter, very back in time.
Yeah.
And here, it's like living in the future.
I know.
It's so modern.
There's not a single old building.
Everything is so modern and picturesque.
The buildings kind of make you feel like you're in Europe.
Right in front of us is the Grand Canal that you can find in Venice.
So this place is surreal.
It's actually crazy because we took a taxi to get here.
And I fell asleep and Ann woke me up.
And I was like, wait, what the heck, where are we?
And we're in Venice.
Why is everything so modern?
It's crazy.
Let's go check it out.
So I didn't even know this place existed until Ann told me.
A lot of the surrounding area is actually just being built.
So we were passing by a mega mall that was just being built.
There's a lot of, I guess, residential homes also that are just being built.
So this place is fairly new, I think.
And reading online, this is apparently going to be the new big thing here in Hanoi.
I can tell that it's going to attract a lot of tourists once the surroundings are done.
And once it gets out there.
Because like I said, I didn't even know this place existed.
Why isn't anyone talking about this?
This is so cool.
Guys, we're actually having such a good time here.
We're not even doing anything, we're just sightseeing.
I know.
Guys, so it's like Venice where you can ride a boat on the canal.
Look at this.
That's so sick.
Alright guys, so we just had dinner.
And we just found out one downside about this place at the very moment.
They don't have ATMs anywhere.
I don't know if it will change in the near future.
But at the moment, they do not have ATMs or banks nearby.
The closest one is a 7 minute drive.
If you guys eat at restaurants, make sure to bring cash with you.
Alright, so they have this bridge that goes across the street.
It's really bright and it's really nice.
Look.
So I feel like right now, it's so open and empty here.
But in the near future, this place is going to be popping.
I'm surprised there's not a lot of people here.
Maybe it's just so big that we're not seeing everybody.
But it's very quiet, surprisingly.
Alright guys, just a quick plug.
We do have a discount code on Klook.
If you're planning a trip anywhere in the world,
you can book hotel transfers, activities, tours, etc. on Klook.
And use our discount code JANINANDKLOOK to save some money.
So we were craving some dessert.
We decided to stop by this cafe that we've been seeing all over Hanoi.
It's called Khá Ti Nát Coffee and Tea House.
We just got an avocado coconut drink.
We also got some cheesecake because we're craving some dessert.
Ooh, look at this cup. It's so cute.
Can we keep this?
Blackpink in your area, you know?
I was thinking more like Barbie, but...
Guys, they even have rides here.
Look at that. They have a sky drop.
It goes up and then it drops.
Alright, so it's currently 8.20pm now.
And every night, apparently, they have a fountain show
or some sort of show in front of this Grand Voyage pirate ship.
And that's what we're currently waiting for.
So it happens every night.
Welcome to Mega Grand World Hanoi.
Please head to the main square area and await the Grand Voyage,
the largest multimedia entertainment show in Northern Vietnam
that will begin shortly.
Alright, guys. It is now 9pm.
That show was great. It was actually quite long.
It was 30 minutes long.
Yeah, and it was a really good show. They have budget here.
Stay tuned for the next one because we are heading to Ninh Binh province.
