Två år efter den Hamasledda terrorattacken den 7 oktober 2023 samlades människor på Norrmalmstorg i Stockholm för att hedra de israeliska gisslan som fortfarande hålls fångna i Gaza. Manifestationen arrangerades av organisationen Bring Them Home Stockholm.
On the second anniversary of the Hamas-led terrorist attack on October 7th 2023
Norrmalmstorg was filled with people who wanted to remember and honor the Israeli hostages still held captive in Gaza
Demonstrations were organized by the organization Bring Them Home
Stockholm to remind people of the detained and demand their release
The Gisslan issue is not a political matter but a human issue
and that it must be stated that the hostage must be released
It was wrong to take the hostages and it is wrong to keep them and they need to be released now
Boboth says he has become cautious about hoping after two years without results
and says that he is waiting to believe in any promises until the hostages are actually released
I mean Trump is as credible as a lottery ticket
When people are out I know they are out
Before they are out it's not over for another year
They also point out that important organizations could have done more in this matter
I am extremely disappointed that the Red Cross has done nothing for two years
I am extremely disappointed that Amnesty International
They have the right to wallpaper the subway with lots of advertisements but not a single word about hostages
In general it's the case that people have stopped talking about hostages as if that were no longer an issue
This is a war that Israel did not start and it is a war that can end tomorrow by releasing the hostages
Lars Adaktusson chairman of the Sweden-Israel Friendship Associatio
She gave a speech at the memory demonstration on Norrmalmstorget
He called October 7th one of the darkest days in the modern history of the Middle East
We all know what happened and we know the significance of the bestial massacre that was carried out then
Regarding the development in the Middle East
It is important to remember what happened to remember those who were murdered
And also look forward and see the opportunities now to try to achieve some form of solution in the Middle East
So this is a manifestation to remember but it is also a manifestation where there is a small hope for a solution
Adaktusson says the public debate has become increasingly polarized
And that media coverage has often been biased and hostile towards Israel
It is Hamas that is primarily responsible
Hamas seeks to maximize civilian casualties using human shields and so on
It has not been portrayed sufficiently
This does not mean that Israel is without responsibility absolutely not
Has committed crimes against the laws of war crimes against humanity
Of course those responsible on the Israeli side must also be held accountable for this
He also expresses concern about the rising antisemitism in Sweden
There are no words to describe how disgusting this is and how important it is for us
To combat and counter all these antisemitic movements that exist
It is fundamentally a threat to human dignity but also a threat to democracy and to Sweden
