Mountain Bike Triple Crown
Malab
Hannah Granberry-Wood
Alexis Skarda
Hannah
Kokopelli
Mile Marker 40
Broke
在Mile 75
Shafer
Mile 1
Shafer
Yeah
Boom
How did
That was incredible
Heck yes
Oh my god
Crap
Hurting in the water
Oh no man
6.37
What
Hurt so bad
It's so worth it
Heck yes girl
And that was not optimal either
I'm really glad I did this one last
of the three
cause I just learned so much about like
managing my body
managing my equipment
like it hurts so bad
at like mile 35
but I knew like
what it's like to just sit on that limit
and like not go over
like I was like teetering
like I would get shaky
and I'd be like
okay gotta eat
gotta eat
gotta drink
and then I'd come back
and same thing with the bike
like I'd hear it start to get a little bit
I'd be like
okay manage your equipment
like shift a little softer
cadence up
like
Heck yeah
I can't believe you just did that
We did it

Thanks team
Today took everything
that I've learned
across all the FKTs
It took someone who was
not trying to control everything
but was brave enough to know
that I could handle anything
and it took the
Coco Peli strong attitude
It took an understanding
that it's going to hurt
and that's okay
In the whole enchilada
I felt like I couldn't red line
quite as much
because the trail was so technical
I really needed my cognitive energy
to pick lines
and in the Coco Peli
it was such a long attempt
that I had to hold back some
just because it's so long
In this
I felt like I had the opportunity
to give it everything I had
the whole time
When I spoke with my sports psychologist
about this trail
and we talked about the intense focus
I would need
My question for her was
but everyone needs a mental break
where does my mental break come
and her response was
you don't take a break
but you shift focus
and so we broke down the attempt
into different segments
according to the terrain
and we took that as my cues
to be able to mentally shift
and think about something different
and in that mental shift
and in thinking about something different
that allowed me mental reprieve
so it felt like
I was starting fresh again
and I feel like that's something
that served me well today
is reframing challenges
I had a tailwind at the start
which meant that I had a headwind
at the finish
and as I was coming towards the finish
the headwind did feel pretty brutal
I could feel it slowing me down
but instead of focusing on
the way it was taking from my speed
I was able to reframe it in my mind
to the fact that it was giving me
reprieve from the heat
and so instead of fighting the wind
I felt like I was able to get to a place
where I could thank the wind
for what it was offering me
There were moments out there
where I was in a lot of pain
and existing in that suffering
felt very hard
but when I would check my data
and look at the numbers
I would say
well of course it's hard
look what you're doing
what you're doing is hard
and that allowed me to keep doing it
At every checkpoint
I was watching my power numbers
be exactly where my coach and I talked about
I was checking all the nutritional boxes
and it's amazing how
these things
even though you're doing them separately
they build off of each other
and in that way
you can also use them
to check each other
Somewhere around mile 30
I was getting the signs within my body
that I was starting to kind of waver
and I was watching that
exist in my power as well
and that's a moment
to then go to those other things
OK what have I neglected
what can I fix
what can I do better
and that's when I realized
I was rationing my water
way too much
but you can't run on no water
for very long
and so I had to make the decision
to drink more earlier
and just know that
I was gonna run out
and I'd deal with it then
I love this
To me these FKTs are
the perfect puzzle
and it's a puzzle I get to do
both on and off the bike
We start the puzzle by putting together
and creating all these pieces
that we think will hopefully
fit together perfectly
and then when I'm out there
I start to get to place the pieces
and watching them connect
for me is the most
thrilling experience
and if they don't connect
it's just a learning experience
and we go back
and we create new pieces
It doesn't mean the puzzle
won't be beautiful in the end
just means we have to do it differently
When the whole plan
comes to fruition
it feels like this little bit of magic
It takes so many things
for all the pieces
to fit together
and when they do
it's really special
What actually allows you
to achieve those moments of success
is the moments of saying
it's okay
this is okay
this is enough
and eventually that enough
will also be fast enough
Today I completed the White Rim
in 6 hours 36 minutes and 51 seconds
