Light, Color, and Life: The Art of José Jiménez Aranda

José Jiménez Aranda was a dynamic painter of genre and later became a leader in the Plein air movement that swept over France and Europe. His much younger brother Luis was also tutored by Jose, before winning a stipend for four years for Rome study. Jose worked in France for about nine years then returned to Spain and taught artists at his atelier. Luis would remain in France and become a citizen of the country. They were excellent workmen at their craft and admired by their peers. A wonderful legacy.
