Angelina Jolie gets emotional at the San Sebastián Festival

Thank you for always speaking about Gaza and Palestine and the people there are voiceless and can't do anything because you've always been helping human beings. And I'm going to go to the point of my question. The necklace that Maxine uses is your mom's, Marshleen, that you decided to have on the movie to be part of with you. And I also know your mom used to write letters to your characters. So my question to you is, what do you think that Maxine would wrote to Marshleen during her fight? And I love you so much. I love you too. What a beautiful person. Oh, it's very hard. As you know, it's very hard to speak of my mother. You would have loved my mother. I think my mother... I did wear my mother's necklace. I also wore her ashes, which was in part of the... I've thought about her a lot, and I think probably everybody in this room has been sitting in a hospital room, maybe some of you have been through heavier things, and you know that someone before you has had that exact moment. So when I went through mine, I was following my mother. And certainly in the film, I would think about all these moments for her. And I wish that she had this community. I wish she was able to speak more as openly as I've been and have people respond as graciously as you have, and not feel as alone. I think she would have told Maxine to live every day and focus on life. You know, really, I think... I think you can't take any moment for granted, and try to live fully. Thank you so much.
